re: Trevor Lawrence gets obliterated while sliding. Brawl erupts, the cart is out

Defenses should do this every time. They've gotten absurd with this penalty in college and pro. Saw a game yesterday where a defender just glided over a QB sliding, the defender got penalized, and the QB slid very late. Defender did a great job to not light this guy up, yet still got a penalty. May as well make it worth your time and the yards.

So if he popped back up and kept running the defense should just stand there
You dumbass! The slide ends the play. The QB has given himself up and the whistle blows.
My God you’re an absolute dumb frick!

Texans player should have been ejected imo
frick that. He should be banned for life. The NFL is entirely too tolerant of dirty plays and players.

The Houston coach said
Azeez had already done similar earlier this season, so I would question the Houston coach's admiration for this particular player.
Were I given the option, I'd take out the coach with the same hit, just to see his reaction, if he could remember the hit.

If the Texans are going to stand behind their guy, their season should be suspended too.

Ryans has to defend him publically in the media. If he doesn't, he'll lose the locker room.
Privately, that's probably another story.

Football(and apparently it's fans) are so incredibly soft these days. The dude lunged at Lawrence at the exact same moment that he decided to slide.
It should have been a penalty obviously, but calling the guy a POS and saying he should be suspended for the rest of the season because of that play is ridiculous. It's football. These guys are supreme athletes and are playing at 100 miles per hour. Mistakes will be made. It's a fast, physical, and violent sport by design, and that is why people love football, and have for a hundred years.

Yup. ESPN used to have segment called Jacked Up and would show the most violent hits. People are soft these days. The reason why NFL players got paid so much is because it was a dangerous game.

Screw that.
Plenty of coaches will say that their player needs to clean things up.
“As I man that I see daily I respect him but there have been a few incidents now and we need them to stop” isn’t losing the locker room

He was still in bounds. Legal hit at full speed.
