He was asked about this in an interview a day or so ago..

quote:

“What if Tennessee calls and says we need a quarterback coach, I mean you can’t turn down your Alma mater,” Patrick goaded Manning.

“Quarterback coach I would do at Tennessee, head coach, absolutely not,” said Manning. “For whatever reason, people in Tennessee like me right now, man, I don’t know why. But if I’m head coach, cut that in half right away.”

Would be awesome for him to be the QB coach though I don't see it actually happening.

Announcer or minority owner.

If he really wants a cush gig Tennessee play by play announcer. If I was the current guy I'd be polishing off my resume.

Just remember he does not need a dime. It would be about image and continuing to be "involved" in the game he loves and has been a part of in since the day he was born.

No, he's going to retire as a Saturday Night Live cast member along with Justin Timberlake. Eli will then replace his brother when he retires a few years later.

based on this clip of him coaching small children he seems like a real a-hole. doesn't seem like he has the patience for the job.

Very doubtful. He doesn't need to. How many Hall of Famers have gone into coaching?

He's said he isn't interested in being a HC.

He did say he'd consider being the QB coach at Tennessee one day.

Great players rarely make great coaches. It's hard to teach something that comes naturally to you. Coaches were usually middle of the pack athletes who had to work their asses off just to achieve a moderate level of success.

Either that or he'll slip off into relative obscurity like Joe Montana, quietly running his businesses and enjoying his money. I don't see Peyton as the type who wants to run his mouth all day on ESPN.
