I can 100% see stuff like this happening with sponsored LIV teams but the dollar amount seems completely absurd.

Nike doesn’t pay tiger 2 billion. They sure as shite aren’t paying it to Brooks and his brother.

And I love brooks.

ETA: sponsored teams isn’t a bad play for LIV though. Much better idea than the silly names they have now.

Yeah 2 billion is team pro sports money with an arena and home game revenue. The sponsored team thing would be cool and a great change for LIV though. I can see it happening for sure

When I first read the title I thought it was saying Nike was buying out Brooks shoes. I am so thankful that I read that wrong.

One day.. a bunch of players are going to realize how much better and profitable long term the game is because of Liv.. the different formats, the team aspect and limited schedule, plays to a lot of players looking for something different.

Unless Tiger is going to LIV to be part of Team Swoosh. Tiger is irrelevant on the PGA Tour and the LIV schedule would benefit him greatly.

$2 billion seems absurd, you could buy some low to mid tier sports teams for that? What does a LIV golf team take over even get you? Sponsorship? Who are they bidding against here? I mean it’s not like someone is offering $1.9 bil and they have to beat it?

Is LIV a way to launder/write off an insane amount of money through the saudis??

It’s the Saudi government, they don’t have to launder anything. They have a ridiculous amount of oil money, they just like spending it.

The need for free agency started this whole LIV golf thing. It has reshaped pro golf in an instant of time and turned the PGA into a LIV clone with big purses, fewer tournaments, and soon, smaller fields and no cuts. Jon Rahm and McIlroy have admitted at the Players they couldn't have don't it without LIV. Now LIV golfers are breaking through majors and isn't this fun to watch?

This time last season who would have thought all this was happening? Even watching Brandel Chamblee getting smacked down last week by Brad Faxon over the Ryder Cup and inviting LIV players was glorious.

The LIV Golf storm has officially arrived.
