Am I missing something as well? Brady is currently 4th in passing yards this season

At some point he'll play a defense with a pulse

Brady is insane. He has longevity that is just on a completely different level. None of his contemporaries can compare when it comes to longevity.
Peyton had a noodle arm his last season. Brees had a noodle arm his last season. Aaron Rodgers looks like he's already on the decline while being 7 years younger.
Brady is 44 and is legitimately a top 2 qb in the NFL. Forget rings, that is what makes him the GOAT imo.

He looks like he doesn’t give a shite about playing for the Packers. I don’t see no decline yet.

This board is so unbelievably reactionary during football season. It's great.

Will be interesting to see what records that Mahomes, Dak, and Herbert break over the next few years with that extra game.
That extra game might shorten some careers too
Maybe what they could have did was have teams play 17 but limit every player to 16… it would create strategy in managing your roster and which players sit when

He is amazing we all love him

Will Mahomes WANT to play until he’s 44? Most QBs grow weary of the grind, the practices, the preparation; Tom Brady LOVES it. I’m amazed that he doesn’t burn out. I think Rodgers COULD, but there’s no way Rodgers plays that long.

Money is a factor here too. Star QBs get paid a ton in the modern era, especially with lucrative endorsements. In the old days players would hang around as long as they could, getting beat up, because they knew that final contract, or the journeyman seasons were a pension for the rest of their lives.
Today these guys have 9 figures in the bank, enough to live like a king for the rest of their lives and know their family will never worry. Why risk destroying your joints or turning your brains into scrambled eggs. Look at Andrew Luck, one of the best in the game and still in his prime. He retired and walked away with a fat signing bonus saying there are more important things in life and the media stood up and gave him a standing ovation.
I think Brady will put all of the records, titles and trophies so far out of reach that other great QBS will say, what's the point?

Nobody’s gonna duplicate Brady because these young players will continue to hamstring their franchises by eating up cap ridiculous space.

Yup. Tom Brady is GROSSLY underpaid, but he does that so he can have a good team around him (I mean Gisele). He seems to be getting BETTER with time. I mean, if I were 44, and have played in the NFL for almost half my life, I'd be ready for something else, and many would feel the same way, but he loves the daily grind. I think Mahomes, Jackson, Rodgers, etc will not endure this long, even if they could. I think Brady wants to break George Blanda's record for oldest player to play in the NFL. The youngest player in the NFL wasn't even born when Brady got drafted
Brady definitely cares about his stats (which is why he throws on the one-yard line), but why not get 1,000 TD's?

I don’t think Rodgers could last that long personally even if he wanted too. Brady is just special when it comes to that.
