Fickell and Campbell should be at the top of every Big 10 program's wish list if a coaching change is needed.

Hell, if Georgia ever had to make a change for some reason, I'd want Fickell to at least get an interview.

They promulgate this Michigan Man nonsense because of Schembechler while completely ignoring the fact that he was a native Ohioan and Woody Hayes disciple who had no ties to UM prior to taking the HC job other than kicking their asses as a former OSU assistant.

Not to mention that Schembechler never won shite. Oh-fer his first 8 Rose Bowls. No NCs. Only arrogant Michigan fans who overestimate their position in the college football world would lionize Schembechler.

Alabama had to purge itself of the cult of Bear. But at least Coach Bryant was the greatest coach in college history.

What Fickell is doing at UC is very impressive

Shaw has long felt like an ideal candidate for the Michigan Wolverines’ job. He’s one of the most-respected head coaches in the country and he’s done a wonderful job at Stanford, where he replaced Harbaugh.

I would lmao if they get rid of Jim and hire Shaw.

That would be like firing Chip Kelly to hire Scott Frost.

But Shaw is tangientially connected to the Schembechler tree through Harbaugh so of course they'll consider him because they can't seem to disconnect themselves from that era and join the 21st century.

Anthony Campinile is the guy who you go get if you want a Michigan man. He was the recruiter and guy who developed the original D at Michigan for Harbaugh. Flores hired him as one of if not first hire when named in Miami

Why would you want a 37 who has never been anything but a position coach?
Twice we've gotten the best most established candidate on the market(Rich Rod & Jim) and hasn't worked out, its time to take a risk.

Stenavich will be getting NFL HC offers pretty soon anyway. Why not take a chance and get him now?

I don't want a "CEO/Recruiter" I want a guy whose core competency is hands on coaching. Trying to be a CEO/Recruiter is why Jim is where he's at now

RichRod didn't work out because people at Michigan didn't want him to work out, from what I've read.

Fickell was actually not a terrible HC during his one year at OSU. They had a shite QB. He would do well in big ten. I wanted him at MSU

Can't say "fire" anymore?

His contract expires after next season.

May be semantics, but it’s not really firing him if they don’t re-sign.

He didnt have the support that Jim and Hoke got but at the end of the day he's the 1 who hired Greg Robinson

So you don’t want to win?

It worked for 20+ years for Bobby Bowden, 10ish years for Dabo, has been working for Herm and Mack, and Orgeron won with that philosophy too. Hell even your main rival uses that formula. Even Saban let’s his offensive coordinators do their own thing as long as it’s effective.

Fickel is the 0bvious answer. He knows how to bring Ohio State mentality to Michigan

Most importantly he can heavily recruit Ohio where the talent is like Bo did and steal them from OSU.

Harbaugh refused to offer AJ Dillon because he didn’t think he had the sauce to be a productive running back.

AJ Dillon is in the NFL and not a single Harbaugh back is in the NFL. Hell I don’t even think one has been drafted.

Out of that list I think Campbell is the best choice. Made Toledo good and has be successful like no other coach I have seen before at I State. He has had them consistently ranked in the top 25 the whole time he has been there. People don't really understand how big that is. Iowa State has been god awful forever.

I think Fickell is in the best spot for himself right now. Ohio school with good tradition and recruiting grounds. He will probably take the leap with a P5 school for the cash but I don't think he will be super successful wherever it is.

Shaw is an awful choice. Maybe 5 years ago but now? Nah.

Toby Gerhart was drafted and stuck for awhile with the Vikings.

They need an elite recruiter, someone who can pluck out players from any state. What Urban did at OSU. Mario Cristobal could do it, although UM might think they're too good for him.
