First take had a good segment on this.
Caitlin does has some resentment against her by some of the wnba players.
Why?They have been playing this game for years and let's be honest are much better players than Caitlin. What has she done in the wnba that is great? Maya Moore is a much better overall player compared to Caitlin but she never got that level of exposure.
Could the players just ride Caitlin wave and get fed from the cash cow? Yes, but why do they have to rely on her when they have arguably more talent? Why is she bringing the eyes...AT THIS LEVEL, her game is average. Just look at her in the WNBA. She is no longer in the college playing against 10,000 college athletes. She's playing against 100 of the best players in the world. She's going to have to earn it.
Or she will forever have that target because white people are only watching because she's pretty white and can shoot a couple threes, and doesn't really have a game outside of that....and the only way that changes is white people stop watching or Caitlin steps up her level of play in WNBA that merits the attention.
And don't try to deny that bold part. The first page confirms it

A) she’s a rookie that went from a full college season, and playoffs to draft to starting a new season with new teammates within about 5 minutes. I’d imagine some tired legs and adjusting to fresh expectations.
B) I’d expect any reasonable adult to go with “if you like CC you should check out INSERT OTHER WNBA PLAYER NO ONE KNOWS.”
Feels like trying to use the moment to lock in fans is more productive than throwing tantrums because you deserve more attention

And if you watched First Take you will have heard Shannon Sharpe say that there are different rules for different people. You seem to be expecting some level of “fairness” here. You and the veteran players in the WNBA aren’t going to get that where Clark is concerned. Is what it is.

I don't disagree. People have their own rationale. If it was me. I would ride her wave and show her out at the same time. Nothing dirty like that chick did. Just play basketball. But at the same time if Caitlin become an after thought due to the increase in competition... So do the new eyes.
