The U.S Olympic Committee will allow kneeling during the anthem at U.S Olympic trials

The U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Committee will not sanction athletes for raising their fists or kneeling during the national anthem at Olympic trials, previewing a contentious policy it expects to stick to when many of those same athletes head to Tokyo this summer.
The USOPC released a nine-page document Tuesday to offer guidance about the sort of "racial and social demonstrations" that will and won't be allowed by the hundreds who will compete in coming months for spots on the U.S. team. The document comes three months after the federation, heeding calls from its athletes, determined it would not enforce long-standing rules that ban protests at the Olympics.

Any person willing to kneel for the anthem while representing the country should be removed prior to competing. frick your political stance

In other competing countries the athletes would be executed for doing the same thing.
Also, if you're going to protest at the Olympics at least do the raised fist

Who has time to watch the Olympics anymore

I've tried to be open minded about people doing it at domestic sporting events. It is their right, whether I like it or not, and I think many of them do have good intentions.
To me, it's absolutely different in international competition while you're literally representing the country. The USOPC is wrong here. They should absolutely require athletes to abstain from any type of protest or demonstrations during the anthem. Same for US Soccer. This is dumb and disrespectful. If the US is so shitty, don't compete for them. Boycott the games.

The US Olympic Committee is the one that did the real kneeling.

frick that! How about don't compete? THAT would be a meaningful protest. Not this vapid virtue signaling bullshite.
So you're apparently a-ok competing FOR the USA. Accepting whatever benefits come from doing so as well as the training paid for you. But you still "don't like the country". Or, at least, have some sort of issue with the country you're representing....just not enough to stop you from competing.
It's one thing to virtue signal when you are a part of a private league (NFL, NBA, etc). It's quite another to "protest" the country for whom you are LITERALLY competing. Got problem with the US? That's fine. Everyone is entitled to their opinion. But show some real conviction by refusing to compete rather that this self-aggrandizing meaningless attention seeking gesture

Exactly. It's disingenuous to hate a country but still represent it on the world stage.
Boycotting shows that you're serious.

Welp...so much for my watching the Olympics.
Actually, I think I will just hope Team Woke USA gets completely fricking shut out of the medals/podiums altogether and participants that have not been convinced to hate their own countries can receive medals.

I'll allow myself not to watch also
Imagine competing in the Olympics but not standing for your flag. Think of the Dim retardation that would take to accomplish.

The Olympics is well known for athletes expressing their political opinions. Some of y’all have some serious revisionist history.

I am no longer upset by public disrespect of any symbol of The United States of America. I understand that there are many people who think that the USA is an evil country that deserves disrespect.
