ETA: I found this gem from Todd McShay just after the 2006 draft:
ESPN Insider (but it's so damn old)
Would you take any of these players ahead of Mario?
1 Mario Williams - DE
2 Reggie Bush - RB
3 Vince Young - QB
4 D'Brickashaw Ferguson - OT
5 A.J. Hawk - LB
6 Vernon Davis - TE
7 Michael Huff
8 Donte' Whitner
9 Ernie Sims - LB
10 Matt Leinart - QB
11 Jay Cutler - QB
12 Haloti Ngata - DT
13 Kamerion Wimbley - DE
14 Brodrick Bunkley - DT
15 Tye Hill
16 Jason Allen
17 Chad Greenway - LB
18 Bobby Carpenter - LB
19 Antonio Cromartie
20 Tamba Hali - DE
21 Laurence Maroney - RB
22 Manny Lawson - DE
23 Davin Joseph - OG
24 Johnathan Joseph
25 Santonio Holmes - WR
26 John McCargo - DT
27 DeAngelo Williams - RB
28 Marcedes Lewis - TE
29 Nick Mangold
30 Joseph Addai - RB
31 Kelly Jennings
32 Mathias Kiwanuka - DE
quote:
Worst pick: Mario Williams, DE, N.C. State. Williams is cheaper and fits a much bigger position of need, but passing on USC running back Reggie Bush with the No. 1 overall selection was a mistake that the Texans might never live down.

He can't be that good. The Baton Rouge radio experts don't even know who he is.

No. But I might have traded down for the Jets' two picks and taken Brick and Mangold.

Maybe the Texans and Mario Williams should worry about winning a respectable amount of games before talking shite

8 wins each of the last 2 years is respectable. Next year, the Texans will win 10 games. You can make that your sig quote.

Hey Kige. Go help VY kill himself. I will add that he played well last night (and Collins played like arse).

I'm sure Orlavsky's gonna do a fine job in Houston after Schaub makes his yearly trip to the IR

As a Ravens fan, I'm pretty happy with Ngata.

the texans are lucky...i believe before negotiations with bush fell apart that Mario was the Saints guy.
anyway, as for the question i'd only consider ngata. he may be the MVP of the Ravens defense. he's a monster in the middle.
