Would you take any of these players ahead of Mario?

2 Reggie Bush - RB
11 Jay Cutler - QB
12 Haloti Ngata - DT
25 Santonio Holmes - WR
27 DeAngelo Williams - RB
30 Joseph Addai - RB
32 Mathias Kiwanuka - DE

All of them I would.

Ngata is the only one. (Brilliant move Phil Savage, for flipping spots with Baltimore to allow them to select him.)

ngata is good, but 2-way DEs are worth a bit more than 2-gap DTs. you have to be a 2-gap DT with pass rushing to get that money

DEs like mario are more rare than QBs like cutler (unless he becomes #4 behind peyton/brady/brees)

I understand, but a team isn't going to trade two first round picks, a third, and it's starting qb for mario williams. It would never happen. They would never get more than what Chicago gave up to get him.

“It looks like the dumbest sports decision of the past 25 years…and that’s before we find out Reggie Bush’s ceiling.”

would a team trade a top 5 pick? that's likely more valuable per "the chart"

In fairness to Simmons, he wasn't the only one saying that.

I remember a Sunday night game in Bush's rookie season and Al Michaels was dogging on Houston.

yeah it was pretty pathetic to see the "pro" announcers lowering themselves to the antics of message board posters
