Reggie's a damn good PR SF, he should do PR fulltime as long as he is a partime RB. that is what he is.

i wouldn't say "stole" when i doubt that williams could hold up without stewart doing the dirty work
He certainly held his own the 2nd half of the season, doing the dirty work.

reggie's punt return legend grows by the day...
little fact nugget: Bush only averages 0.2 more yards per punt return than Kevin Faulk. 9.6 to 9.8.

aquiring a pass rusher is much easier than finding a NT as good as ngata.
Williams isn't just a pass rusher, though.
I'd say finding a player as big and athletic as Ngata is at nose is a little easier than a DE like Williams.
Think about it... there are two DEs that are 6'6"+ and 300 that rush the passer (Williams and Peppers).
There may be 3 or 4 DTs like Ngata (Haynesworth, Jenkins, and maybe one other), though he may be the best.

Reggie's a damn good PR SF
he had 1 unreal game against minny (who sucked arse at PR defense) and he's a legend now
he didn't do that much on PR before that in his career (i think 1 big return against TB and that's it). he had a GOOD number of negative/stupid returns that he should have fair caught

4 returns in 41 tries is pretty good
about a TD every 12 returns
Hester does it once every 17 returns

People forget Minnesota had the worst PR defense in the league.

Eh, maybe J Williams.
Ngata, Jenkins and Haynesworth actually do some penetrating. Those guy only pick up their hand and don't move.

he has done it for awhile going all tha way back to HS, he knows what he is doing when he returns punts, just look at him, the funny thing is he patiently waits for blocks to set up on PR and then accelerates thru them, but he can't do the same thing when runnin tha ball from the RB position.

id say Peppers has had a much bigger impact on his defense than Williams has had.

hampton never rushes the passers, but he still is a short bull in the middle of the OL
j. williams and ngata both had 1.0 sacks, and their solo tackles weren't TAHT different 31 v 43 (williams didn't play for 2 games)

How many INTs did Jamal Williams have, though?

i don't know about that
peppers has always had good talent surrounding him b/c of the coaching philosophies of their head coach
if dunta is a step slow, the texans may have the worst secondary in the NFL. they have 2 new OLBs, but 1 is a rookie and the other likely starter is in his 2nd year and is an injury worry
travis williams is just a guy. they have no other proven DE, and okobi isn't physically ready

how many steroid suspensions did ngata have, HUH?!!!?!

mike rucker was the last decent DE to line up opposite peppers and his career went downhill after about 2003. they really haven't had talent at DT besides Jenkins who didn't want to be there from 2006 on.
they've always had talent in the back seven but Peppers make them look a little better than they are. teams have to gameplan for him week after week despite having no help on the rest of the line.
even with all that, they've managed to keep a pretty good defense until this year.

the texans were 27th in sacks last year and 22nd in defense. as you can see, williams dominant presence has led to a great defense.
Terrible logic.
They are meant to play in two types of systems. I'd pick the guy for whichever system I was running.

my point was for all the hype williams is getting the texans defense is still shitty. the player williams is most compared to is Peppers and he has had a much bigger impact over his career.

Peppers has had more talent(And better coaching).
