How many all pro years has the bushter had? Cuz Williams has been all Pro both of his years, including first team last year.

Haven't they both been in the league 3 full seasons now?

i don't hate bush

i'm just annoyed at how badly he's overrated by fans of my team

I wouldn't trade the NFC championship run for anything and he was a vital player in that run.

you wouldn't trade it for building a better team that could go farther than the nfc title game?

The problem with Bush for Williams trade would be the already overpaid assholes we have sitting at DE. No where for the Saints to put Mario (even though I'd gladly get rid of Smith or Grant for him)

some fans may severely over rate him and I think you severely under rate him.

You can't play the what if game? If we don't have the excitement over Bush do we have that kind of year? Pieces fell into place.

Would we have gone that far w/ everyone feeling ilke we settled for Mario? (excitement level again)

What if we had a bad year w/ Mario...do we have expectations like we've had the last few years? We had to build off that year...and I don't think that year Mario would have had a big impact like BUsh did.

I'm not saying he's the greatest ever..but IF he can stay healthy...I think he's a huge part of the team. He still demands to be paid attention to when he his on the field. He opens it up for alot of people.

New Orleans is where high D-Lineman draft picks go to be mediocre.

I am fine with Bush.

Its not like we had the option to draft Williams anyway.

the point of the thread isn't that NO made a mistake in picking him, its that Houston DIDN't make one in not picking him, and they were unfairly excoriated for it.

Now that is completely true. At least we didn't pass on signing Drew and take VY

Before the draft I said I would have taken Williams if I were the Texans. I really don't know why so many people bashed the pick. Bush so was over hyped coming out of college.

Same here. As a Texans fan, I was thrilled with the pick. The main reason was that Peyton Manning and the Colts were in our division. We needed someone to get to him. It has worked well. We have been playing the Colts much closer ever since.

The main part I will remember about that draft is that the Texans probably had the best draft out of anyone. We got Mario Williams, DeMeco Ryans, and Owen Daniels. All 3 players are pro-bowlers. Getting Slaton in the 3rd last year made passing on Bush even sweeter. I also believe that Schaub will be great this year. Injuries finally won't be a problem I think.

Texans have no excuses this year. Talent is there for the next decade.

their safties blow and they are iffy at OLB

DTs need to step up

also schaub may get hurt

they're far from a perfect team, but if the DTs and OLBs step up and schaub is healthy, they should be good

bush hasn't really hit many home runs in the NFL

What? Tampa his rookie year along with the Dallas game. Chicago in the NFC Championship game. The Minnesota game last year where he was a shadow tackle away from three punt returns in one game for TD's. Before his injury last year he was leading the league is AP yards and TD's. Is he an every down back? Of course not. But, there is no one better in the open field in the NFL. The Saints already had Grant and Smith, who else should they have drafted to energize the franchise post-Katrina?

is bush even the best small/fast scatback/receiveroutofthebackfield/returner in the NFL?

MJD?
westbrook?
washington?
c. johnson?
