I'll give u wrigley and fenway but people don't go visit the rose bowl.

Super dome is the best big time event location period the end. There is a reason why it hosts more big events than the rest. Great location. Fun tourist city. Tons of hotel rooms w/in walking distance. It sets up perfectly for big events.

Call me a homer but the facts back it up.

Whatever, dude. Sports isn't sports unless you're looking at mountains.

It should be viewed in a very high tier. The only reason it isn't is because it's in New Orleans.

Can't disagree with any of that, but none of that has much to do with the stadium itself. The stadium is a dome, so it always gets lower points with me. It has benefitted from being in New Orleans in a great location, but doesn't have much charm or romance to it.

Was he checking a Final Four off his Bucket List or checking watching a sporting event in the Mercedes-Benz Superdome off his Bucket List?

I love the bucket list people. It's not like we all have the same bucket list.

I sat next to a bunch of Allstate people at the Ohio St/ LSU BCSNCG and I thought these people were crazy to even be at the game b/c they had no tie to either school or even college football fans. When I asked them why they were even there a guy and his son sitting next to me said they wanted to check out the Superdome. The entire game theses fools just sat there in Aw looking around at the building. This was even before most upgrades. So I have personally talk to a father and son who took a trip from Maryland just to see the Dome.

With all the upgrades this place will be around for another 25 years, no other venue will be able to come close to the events this place has and will host.

It will be around longer than that, and it's because LA politics were forced to upgrade the dome and now see how much bigger it has become and a moneymaker....remember how much people fought not to upgrade it before Katrina? We would have lost the saints and many big events besides the sugar bowl had it not been for that. Expect upgrades every 10 years now....hopefully the remaining seats from 1992 get changed out

It is a dome that has had great events taken place inside of it, but not because the stadium is so great and unique, but because of its location and ability to hold basketball and football games.

Sums it up pretty well.

It's not homerism, if the homers live in one of the most unique and fun cities around.

Saw a quote the other day about New Orleans:

"We as New Orleans citizens live in one fo the greatest cities around, and need to step back and appreciate it. What everyone else plans and takes vacations for, we get to do on a weekly basis."

So it's not unique, but it is unique?

he didn't even specify what he was crossing off. it could have been going to a Final Four Championship game for all I know.

More people would make a special visit to Tiger Stadium than the Superdome.

I run into people all the time from all over the country, one time even a guy from England, who made the trip to see a night game in Tiger Stadium.

People travel from all over to go to New Orleans, but definitely not to go to the Superdome. That's just silly.
