More people would make a special visit to Tiger Stadium than the Superdome.

:kige:

Tiger Stadium would definitely be higher on my bucket list.

This is the bucket list that I want to visit.

Baseball:
1. Wrigley
2. Fenway
3. Camden Yards or AT&T Park

NFL:
1. Lambeau Field
2. Cowboys Stadium - just because it's new
3. The rest are blah.

College Football:
1. The Big House or Notre Dame Stadium
2. Rose Bowl Game
3. The Swamp

The old Orange Bowl would have been in my top 3 if it still existed.

College Basketball:

1. Cameron
2. Hinkle Fieldhouse
3. The Palestra
4. The Pit

People travel from all over to go to New Orleans, but definitely not to go to the Superdome. That's just silly.

This

The Mercedes-Benz Superdome is a top ten venue in terms of solely hosting great, important sporting events; however, it's not a venue anyone makes a special trip to visit or or anyone's Bucket List of stadiums.

The first post in the thread asks when the Dome will join Wrigley and Fenway. That's not ever going to happen.

Don't get me wrong, I love the dome. I saw LSU win 2 NCs there and the 49ers win Super Bowl 24 there. It's a cool stadium in a great town, but it's just not that kind of a place.

will the Superdome join the likes of the great American venues (Wrigley, Fenway, Rose Bowl)?

The OP mentioned Wrigley and Fenway. Those places aren't known for hosting big events.

I guess if I had "bucket list" stadiums, they would be

Wrigley
Fenway
Lambeau

I'm 2/3.

Lambeau is at the top of my stadium bucket list and no other American stadium is close.

I have been to the bold. I REALLY want to do a college basketball venue run as well. That would just be swell. Hit UNC, Duke, and UK in a 2 week trip or something? What a blast that would be.

the rose bowl game is an event, not a stadium. if the stadium is what you really want to see, just go to a ucla home football game.
