The orioles 0-21 start in 88' might be the most unbreakable sports record of all time

I just don't see mathematically how that could ever be topped. You could field a team of double a players and still win a couple games out of 21.

How big would the melt be now if your team reeled off a streak like that?

Saint Peters baseball the last two seasons:

2018: 0-33
2017: 0-38

They haven't won since May 20, 2016 (72 straight losses)

Lost 5 less games this year, they're on the way up!

It's unlikely to be topped to start a season, but we've seen losing streaks get close. Royals lost 19 straight in 2005 and the Phillies lost 23 straight in 1961.

I think the most unbreakable record is Nolan Ryan’s career strikeout record.

He had 5,714

Second place is Randy Johnson with 4,875

He has the record by close to a thousand more strikeouts.

I’d say Rickey Henderson’s stolen bases record of 1406 is the most unbreakable individual record

Not including Cy Young and whatnot

The most unbreakable record is Fernando Tatis 2 grand slams in one inning it's not close.

Considering we may never see a 300 game winner again, Cy Young’s 511 wins is the most unbreakable record for me

That’s maybe true.

Randy Johnson was a strikeout machine AND he pitched for 21 seasons.
And he wasn’t close.

This is due to the sport changing. There is nothing different about the sport that would make Grand slams more difficult which is why Tatis record is far more impressive and just as impossible to break

Yeah, no doubt. It might get tied one day, but no one is breaking it. Ever.

However, I kind of figured the OP was focusing on unbreakable records of suckage.

And? That’s exactly why it’s the most unbreakable

ehhh maybe/maybe not

the most unbreakable record is Van Der Meer's consecutive no-hitter streak of two

I doubt it’s in the top 500 of “unbreakable” sports records.

I mean I would assume my team was tanking so I'd be good with it.

It's baseball.

And so that seems mathmatically impossible.

I mean the hottest start is the Braves 13-0.

I can't imagine an MLB club not being able to win 1 damn game out of 21. That's Little League shite.

Yeah, it's weird to see a record for losses labeled unbreakable. Intentionally losing isn't impossible.

There's an entire South Park episode about the quest.
