the only thing wrong about Rory is that he is European

Rory hasn't made a bogey yet and he's 32 holes into his round.
This is just as impressive as being -11, if not more.

i know but let's wait to see after sunday. if he wins by 10 or so then we can make that statement.
He needs to gain the biggest lead he can so if something happens again like at Augusta then he can still have some leeway to win it.

I think Andy North just nailed it. He had the wrong strategy in the final round in April. He was trying not to make mistakes instead of doing what got him there in the first place.
And hes leg kicking after a striped tee shot now like someone else used to.

His hair makes neck jealous

I'm not comparing him to Tiger
yet
I think Tiger was 21 when he won the Masters for his first major. Rory could have an all-time great career, but obviously he still needs to start winning some majors.

looks like tiger's record of a 6 shot lead after 36 is going down. let's see if the 15 shot victory record will go down as well.....

Is there any chance this kid chokes this lead away? I truly hope not after this great start.

There's always a chance, but I am hoping not

I like Rory solely based on the fact that every time i see his name or someone brings him up i get to say his name like im asian.

BETHESDA, Md. — When Rory McIlroy holed that pitching wedge for eagle at the eighth hole on Friday, he became the first player to ever hit double digits under par in the second round of the U.S. Open.
Prior to Friday, only four other players had hit double digits at the championship where par is valued above all others. Here are the others:
Strokes Player Round Course Year Finish
12 Tiger Woods Four Pebble Beach 2000 1st
12 Gil Morgan Third Pebble Beach 1992 T13
11 Jim Furyk Third Olympia Fields 2003 1st
11 Ricky Barnes Third Bethpage Black 2009 T2
The 36-hole record is 11 under, held by Furyk and Barnes. Given the way McIlroy is playing that could change on Friday.

Somebody at ESPN needs to tell Chris Berman to go get a hot dog outside the booth, and then lock the door so he can't get back in
