It’s only open Thursday (non bbq) and Friday (bbq) for lunch
Not sure in what category, but I’d add Station 6 to that list
Not traditional BBQ (more higher-end Tex Mex with smoked meats and good margs), but I thought Little Coyote was incredible. Only open for dinner though.
Food and atmosphere both better at Shaya IMO

i was on a flight on the Sunday after the CrowdStrike issue where United needed 8 volunteers. A few people took the $600-1k offer, but the last four spots went for $4k/person. Obviously not normal circumstances since they had to get pilots on the plane as passengers who were stuck in ORD. I overheard from one of the pilots that they had approval to go up to $5k/person.
Chattanooga has an underrated food scene. Plenty of good breweries too
RIP Fishers. Anyone know what’s going to happen to that location?

Chattanooga isn’t a bad drive. Decent amount of things to do with kids (rock city, ruby falls, Tennessee aquarium, children’s museum, etc.) Solid food and brewery scene too

There’s a ton of resorts within an hour of LA or SD off the PCH
No station 6? I’d argue it serves up some of the best seafood in Nola
I waited ~2 hours in line for it back in 2017 and it lived up to the hype for me.
re: Going to the Auburn game at Cal next month. Is Berkeley an ok place to visit, or do we..

Berkeley is nice. I was just out there not long ago. Feels like a cleaner, more local SF. A bunch of really good restaurants in the area too. Highly recommend Pizzeria da Laura.

If you like Costera, you’d probably really like their sister restaurant Osteria Lupo.
Gianna does a pretty good one as well. Both are more feed me menus though.
Saint Germain is incredible but not sure they could seat 8-10 at one table. And the price is considerably higher than family-style feed me menus

Haven’t been, but Lengua Madre has one. Heard good things. I’m checking it out next month.

Summit and Escondito are both private right? Do you know anything about Legends in Kingsland?

Have you been? Reviews kinda seem meh but it’s hard to weed out the irrelevant ones. Think guests have to stay on grounds to get access to courses.

Don’t kill my vision haha
I think a minor league stadium on the West Bank overlooking the downtown skyline would be great. Add a walking/biking bridge to connect the two sides and revitalize that area

DD on the northshore would print money
I’d agree w that. Juniors, Pizza Domenica and Celtica are all nice additions. The best restaurant in that little area is still in bucktown though haha

Could be wrong but I thought that one closed like two years ago. A French Truck by Mr Ed’s would be perfect

That’s kinda the point. Most bucktown starter homes ($270k+) are tear downs due to condition and size. Which is driving a lot of new construction development in the area.
If your budget is $500k but want something bigger than 1,500 sq ft, you’ll have more options in LV.
I do find the walkability in LV to be somewhat overstated. I lived in LV for 10 years and rarely walked to places listed (pharmacy, grocery, mail services lol) other than coffee shops and CC. The restaurant scene overall is pretty underwhelming. Bucktown could use a coffee shop though.

New builds in bucktown are pretty comparable $ wise to new builds in LV. Not all of bucktown is lake Ave haha. And not all of LV is Argonne.

The third house will be a tough sell since it’s the first house off w. esplanade.
Same with the second house, although that one isn’t new or in bucktown.
I wouldn’t buy the first one on looks alone haha

Sounds like you haven’t been in bucktown recently haha. $800k+ homes are going up on almost every block
I don’t know about all that. Still a decent amount of unkept houses/rental properties in LV.
Lots/new build construction costs are similar, although with a 20% reduction property tax alone. With better roads, public services, significantly lower crime, walkability to lakefront, etc.

What neighborhood are you referring to? Bucktown is steadily turning into Lakeview without all the headaches. Most lots are bigger too.
