Holy shite! McIlroy has 10 feet for eagle and to go where no one has ever gone before...-13 in the US Open.

Anybody that argued with me yesterday still want to use the "but only 3 golfers in the history of golf have ever done that before" excuse?

BETHESDA, Md. – How good is Rory McIlroy playing? Well, he is three pars away from becoming the first player since 1992 to play the first two rounds of the U.S. Open without making a bogey.

Not to mention, he currently has an eight-shot lead over Y.E. Yang, who doesn’t tee off until 1:35 p.m. The largest previous lead after 36 holes? Tiger Woods’ six-stroke edge in his record-setting, 15-shot victory at Pebble Beach in 2000.

Since 1992, only three players have played the first two rounds and made just one bogey – Ricky Barnes (2009), Phil Mickelson (2004) and Stephen Leaney (2003).

He's playing out of his mind right now. Wonder what Yang is thinking before he tees off

This goes to show what kind of clinic Rory is putting on right now. If he finishes without a bogey, I'd put his 1st 2 rounds ahead of what Tiger did at Pebble in 2000's 1st 2 rounds. Obviously, he'd have to play out of his mind 2 more rounds to equal or better it for the whole tourney, but that goes to show how amazing these 36 holes have been. Could be the best 36 hole stretch in the history of golf.

Rory is freaking killing it. If Phil can't win, I'll take Rory winning it. I like that kid.

And he birdied 18 yesterday, too, so maybe -14?
