At least ESPN televises the games. If they didn’t, I’d see maybe two or three LSU games per year.
If anything, ESPN does more for college baseball than all the other outlets combined.

This is a big reason I’m not more into college baseball. A big part of why I love the MLB is the endless stats. I’m a numbers guy.
It wouldn’t take much to copy and paste the format they use to cover MLB on ESPN.com. It’s not like they have to enter every number one by one. They’ve always outsourced stat compiling anyway.

Do you think college softball is more popular than college baseball? Cause it seems like espn pushes it more for some reason. And I don’t think it’s popularity.

Not even so sure about the South as a whole. Just a few college towns that the local teams do well garner enough attention to sustain.
The problem for college baseball is Major League Baseball.
The MLB is literally on TV every single night from April through October. Any fan's favorite team is only off one midweek night a week, at most.
Thus, no time to dedicate to a college team, too.
This isn't like college football to the NFL, where there is frankly very little overlap in television coverage.
You can be a college fan on a Saturday and a pro fan on a Sunday

The basketball gameday already basically just rotates between the same 10 schools. Can't imagine how limited the rotation would be for baseball.

And when you post facts supporting this, they still don't want to realize it.
Like I said earlier, it is factually indisputable that women's basketball is a bigger national draw than college baseball. But the knuckle-draggers can't/don't want to comprehend that.

Just because a school with a baseball team has a decent enrollment doesn’t mean there is a media market for it dumbass. You can use the same argument for fricking water polo.
The World Series last year was notable for having the highest ratings of any world series. Average viewership across all platforms?
1.6 million. Almost 50% higher than previous year.
That’s less than 20% of women’s basketball March Madness, in spite of there being a lot more throwaway games no one cares about in that tournament.

It just isn't marketable at all. When you do have a notable player, that player gets drafted and spends years in MiLB before you even see him in MLB. There's nothing to latch on for a national audience.
It's cheap filler programming for ESPN, and something for bored southerners to go watch on a weekend.
