Hell that douchebag Jalen Rose said he would have told his teammates that he couldn't play in the game the other night.

Making any blanket statements about matters of race is generally a bad idea, particularly for a public figure.

ESPN analyst Jalen Rose proved this again while revealing his contempt for the Duke men’s basketball program in ESPN’s documentary about the Fab Five, Michigan’s famed 1991 freshman basketball class of which Rose was a part. In the movie he produced, which premieres Sunday, Rose said he believed the only African American players Duke Coach Mike Krzyzewski recruited were “Uncle Toms.”

But they sponsored his team even though he didn't rent out to black people and had some weird racial fetish about Baylor basketball.

So? The general public wasn't bashing him on every single news broadcast at that time, now they are.

No one seems to remember the fact that Elgin Baylor sued him for discrimination a few years back when he was GM. Amazing how just because it was put into social media and the circus got a hold of it, now its a hot button issue.

sterling employed Baylor for 22 years, even though Baylor was the worst GM in sports. Seems like Sterling was very generous towards Baylor.

Everyone didn't know. People around the league & in the LA area had an idea he was POS. But, I'm sure some information stayed in house.

CarMax finds the statements attributed to the Clippers' owner completely unacceptable. These views directly conflict with CarMax's culture of respect for all individuals," a CarMax spokeswoman wrote in an email to HuffPost. "While we have been a proud Clippers sponsor for 9 years and support the team, fans and community, these statements necessitate that CarMax end its sponsorship

Oh but you were a sponsor for a decade even though everyone knew he was a racist pos then too.

The public in general doesn't remember it.

A lot of basketball fans do, though, considering some of the weird shite Sterling would do that got reported due to the case.

My two favorite incidents from the Baylor case were when Sterling would take his girlfriend through the locker room to look at the "beautiful black bodies" of the players and when the team lowballed Danny Manning on a contract because it was "a lot of money for a poor black kid."

As long as there was money to be made, they were cool with it.

I'm not all that surprised. This is a national story and they don't want a black eye.

Somewhat similar to the Redskins situation. Sponsors like FedEx aren't going to pull out until things are in a tailspin.

Carmax, State Farm, Virgin America.

If only we didn't have to see those stupid Chris Paul State Farm commercials anymore.

Herm Edwards is one of the only people I've heard say you knew who he was when you let him in. Everyone else is acting like a surprised idiot.

Exactly. Just don't act all holier than thou once shite hits the fan.

If you act all holier than thou when no one else is watching you get no benefit. These are companies we're talking about, not people, so a sense of self satisfaction isn't high on their list of priorities.

Kobe said the same thing, it's all nonsense.

Notice how a bunch of guy's not in that situation said they wouldn't play for him, but not the actual players in the situation.

There's a 0.0000000% chance, lower if you can go lower, that Kobe would skip that playoff game while the rest of the team goes out and plays it.

If they weren't a somewhat dedicated sports fan people didn't even know who Sterling was until a couple of days ago.
