Last year Catholic had the pitching and the bats … this year they got another year of growth with these senior hitters. We will see how the pitching holds up when the hitting slumps.

How often do they lose prior to the semis for it to be something Cecchini needs to worry about his seeding?

They have before…

Barbe’s seeds since seeding began in 2008

5, 4, 7, 5, 1, 1, 1, 5, 1, 2, 4, 1, COVID year, 1, 1, 2, 1

they were good before cechinni not great but pretty good.. .shite I was 0-2 and 01 in a gut wrenching legion game.

Weird game. Cupit was rolling. Had them shut down to 1 hit. Obviously first game of the year and on a short pitch count. Came out with I’m guessing 50 pitches thrown, maybe 60. Obviously WM wants to win, but also keeping it all in perspective. Catholic can swing it too to bottom. The best hitter on the weekend has been the 8 hole.

3 2/3 1 hit 1 run. Not sure on K/BB. The run was a walk with a lot of screaming on 2 pitches that would’ve been strike 3. His last AB started 3-0 to the 1B then came back with 3 straight for a backwards K.

He did have like 70 pitches. Cold early season game so 70-75 was probably what they were thinking. Saw him last year, kids got a great future.

WM doesn’t need to beat Catholic. Nor should they ever be expected to. It would be foolish to push Culpit past 3 innings in that game.

I get it, it’s February. The trophies are handed out in May

They should at least 1 out of 3 if they’re who we think they are

Has West Monroe best Catholic in anything since the split?

The football gods basically blessed Catholic for voting against it and cursed WM for voting for it

Looks like West Monroe sucks in every sport now

WM won’t need to beat Catholic to win a trophy.

The advantage is so severe that we need to go through all of the effort to split championships. Expecting 1 out of 3 seems unrealistic.

Catholic has dominated West Monroe in baseball and have beat them in football recently as well. West Monroe lost some big bats last year. Looks like Catholic has simply reloaded.

Kinda emptied the clip yesterday. Started a freshman today and had gone through 3 pitchers in the 2nd. I’m not there, just getting updates.
