Some good info for fantasy or golf gamblers. The 3 best tourneys to look at prior to Masters are Genesis, Sentry ToC, and WGC Mexico for comparable success at The Masters.

Golf Channel live from the Masters is now doing ESPN Tom Rinaldi style sob stories and they got me good. Tirico narrated the story of Shane Caldwell and Tiger Woods.

All 4 rounds in the 60's by at least 1 player? Yes +710

Pretty sure this has never been done before, but those are some decent odds.

Never been done. Mickelson almost in 2001. Shot 70 in final round. Happened about 5 times last 18 years. See the trend? They've always shot 60's in the first 3 and the 70 or above in final. Still think it's a bet worth the odds.

Everyone says the elevation changes are the thing you notice first - something that TV doesn't really do justice.

The other thing they say is just how wide open the course is. The majority of holes you can miss left/right and just deal with pine straw and trees, not necessarily a lost ball.

What was your experience?

The elevation is insane. No question. And yes, I looked at a lot of holes and was like “I could hit it in this fairway.” They are so damn wide. But that’s easy to say when you’re just a patron though.

Our experience was fantastic. The best way to explain it is that it’s as awesome as you think it will be. It’s gorgeous, and weirdly it feels a lot like Disney. The people working are all overly nice. The concessions are set up and run so smoothly. It’s pristine and absolutely clean. Etc. It’s just a great, well-run ship in pretty much all facets.

Best tip I could give is what my buddy told me before we went. Hit the pro shop first thing in the morning. If you wait till the end of the day you’ll wait an hour or more just to get into it. So go buy all your shite first thing and then you can check your stuff and pick it up on the way out.

There are no phones allowed, but cameras are allowed during practice rounds. So my advice is to bring a good one. We brought an old digital one and I hope the pics come out okay. But they won’t do it justice anyway. They also did have phone banks with free long distance, which was nice. So if you wanted or needed to call someone you could.

We lucked out. We walked a few holes and then stood at #17 tee box. So we could see the iconic 16th green. And that’s also where they skip the balls across the water onto the green. So we were there and the Tiger/Couples group were on 15 (they had started on the back nine). So we waited and watched them on 16 and then they teed off in front of us on 17. Then the Koepka/Watson group was behind them. So we watched them on 16 too. Then we walked 6, 5, and 4 (they loop back to where we were). And we watched Rory and DJ play 6. So in a span of about 40 minutes we saw most of the big names that were there.

Then we walked the rest of the front nine and made our way to Amen Corner and took some pics. Then walked back up between 10 and 18 and we had pretty much seen the entire course.

I'd also recommend walking the course backwards. It sort of assures that you’ll see everyone and you won’t be chasing anybody’s group.

Some dude working there told us that if they hear thunder they make you take shelter and if it rains too much or lightning occurs they kick everyone out. So about 1:30/2:00 we had seen everything and saw most of the names, so we called it a day because the weather was coming, and an hour or so later the course was being cleared due to rain. So we couldn’t have played it much better than we did.

But by far the best move we made was buying all our shite first thing. It saved TONS of time. And we got there before 8, so we couldn’t go out onto the course anyway. So it worked out.

Definitely a bucket list thing for me. Just hope we can get tickets at some point again because my wife wasn’t able to come. But I got to take my dad and he has literally always wanted to go. And his health isn’t the best so I was glad I got to do it with him.

I took a flyer on Kuchar to win. No way he does, but 40-1 odds with the way he’s played this year was too much to pass up. I expect him to contend, get my hopes up, but fade at some point.

I told my group as we walked in and went down towards the gift shop and concessions that this reminds me of an amusement park.
I’m a huge golf fan. Played the game all my life. Yesterday ranks up there with being in the Superdome for LSU-Oklahoma. I never thought anything could compare to that but yesterday may even have topped it.
