This is a tough one, but I can see the R&As perspective. DQ by signing a wrong scorecard or take the penalty and come out pissed the frick off and make this course your bitch tomorrow. The best look for Bryson is to penalize himself though he may disagree and fight this weekend and not leave it to officials to make a ruling.

Intent doesn’t matter. He improved his lie.

Pride absolutely called this in to the R&A

I walk behind the ball to see the line.

Don’t fall is all I try to do.

Deep grass like that, I’d probably not find the ball.

It’s done. They changed all the scoring computers.

I was part of Faldo’s strategy to prevent Bryson from winning.

I actually thought they disallowed that several years ago? That they would no longer allow fans to call in violations.

The PGA Tour did. I’m not sure about the R&A

He’s stepping back to look at his target? If anything I think he’s trying to not move his ball with the way he stepped around and behind the ball.

The practice swing into the grass before stepping back is what makes it look potentially intentional

Looks like they did and both the PGA and R&A are mentioned.

Of course that’s what we do.

But isn’t the rule you need to avoid stomping as much shite as possible?

You can’t just go flatten the big clump of fescue that’s about to keep you from a backswing and through swing.

Flattening stuff where his stance would be was clearly to see if he could get a good stance. And I think that’s within the rules?

But once he went behind the ball and started flattening that fescue, I think a penalty is understandable.

That’s probably the way most of us learned. It’s all I thought he was doing when I watched it live. Now, I can understand that it could easily be seen as improving his lie. It’s definitely a tough break for him. I’m anxious to see how he responds.

I am really, really, really questioning your manhood right now.

I know you got on the cellular device and sent a text to some guy with bad teeth and poor culinary habits, which led to this.

I have been playing nice with you and your cheater idol, but here you go, doing something like this.

I really hope that Alabama has to play in the Liberty Bowl in sleet and shite, and you are forced to keep DeBoer for 6 years now.

I think this is where I am as well on it. I won’t say he was intentionally trying to improve anything. But it damn sure looked like he did at least a little bit. And if I tent is irrelevant then I get why they ruled it that way.

Just seems fairly stupid for him to walk around behind it ans stomp his foot multiple times in several spots. Hopefully he learned his lesson there. Two strokes sucks though.
