Can we pause the Punta Cana tournament and go live to Brandel on Live From?

Do we know exactly what happened? I turned the volume on mid argument

Yeah I’d like to see a replay at least and an explanation. I thought the day was pretty much over I tuned out

From my understanding, He walked in the tall grass to go hit his ball & apparently that mean he improved his lie
Mind you this was on hole 5 & he’s being told about it hours later

Sounds like when Rham found out about his penalty a couple years ago

Dude… come on. You don’t have to be a LIV shill about everything man. Even if you don’t think he improved his lie, it wasn’t just walking around in the tall grass to hit his ball.

He’s stepping back to look at his target? If anything I think he’s trying to not move his ball with the way he stepped around and behind the ball.

I am no Bryson fan but this is pretty harsh
Posted on 7/17/26 at 3:19 pm to ShaneTheLegLechler
He was deliberately stomping down the high fescue. Was he doing so simply to make it easier walk around the area, or improve his stance, or improve his lie?
I don’t know, but I’d like to know the exact R&A rule. Bryson’s actions opened himself up to a rules interpretation, but I don’t think it was a clearly obvious penalty. It’s a judgment call.

I do not agree with that

He just showed the official the big clump of grass that was behind him and fully in the way of his swing path.
Well in real time, he walked over there behind the ball and trampled that thick grass.
Did he not?

It’s close. And I can’t say for sure he was trying to give himself an advantage. But he was 100% flattening that clump of fescue that would have most likely given him trouble throughout his swing.

I saw the replay they just showed again and now I can see what you’re saying when he first walked back there. Didn’t see it the first time. I still think this is pretty harsh but I agree he did himself no favors with the way he stepped back there initially
Posted on 7/17/26 at 3:24 pm to ShaneTheLegLechler
Live, I 100% thought he was improving his lie, but I thought there was no way it would be called because they rarely call people out on that.

They wouldn’t show that for a while until Furyk spoke up twice and said there was more footage to see.

I think it could be judged either way. You would have to actually know his mind to know what the intent was.
If some rando watching at home actually called this in, as the broadcast has suggested may have happened, that person needs to get a f’in life.

My biggest issue with this is it probably happened 100 times the last two days and some loser definitely called this in
