Huge win for Clark. Awesome to see a new guy get one.

Bummed for Rickie, but he’s only 34 and game is trending. I think he’ll take away more positive than negative.

Rickie Fowler is just a born loser like James Harden. It is what it is.

Rickie is a likable guy though.

The “these guys won’t be able to recover” thing just isn’t ever true for the most part

Rory choked away the masters in 2011 in epic fashion—comes back to win the us open a month later

Brooks chokes the masters—comes back and wins the pga a month later

Rory gets chased down at the British-still in contention at every major

These guys are elite and take the positives out of everything

This week is still a huge net win for Rickie

Yeah, for sure. Rickie just set the record for most birdies at a US Open. I think it’s a lot easier mentally to leave knowing that you just need to eliminate the bogeys rather than “I can’t make a birdie”.

I dont see it. He has been mentally weak in the past and this will destroy his head. He needed to win today.

He may, but he has to get better with his wedges

As good as he drives, he can’t consistently give himself 30 foot for birdie with wedge in hand. Yes, when putter is hot, you will make some still at that distance. But that isn’t going to be the recipe for success unless you just have a cam smith like week putting

It was a birdie fest all day.

But the last 2 groups are struggling to keep par and some just couldn't. Tell me this game isn't psychological.

That is pretty harsh.

I reckon he is having a pretty nice life for a "born loser".

that’s not how golf works..only 1 guy wins out of 150+, so the vast majority lose. Winning is hard as hell and takes good strategy and execution and luck. These guys lose a lot and most of them have to put themselves in contention a lot to win once. Wyndham will probably never do again what’s he’s done in the past few months

Sun came out for the last few groups on 1, and the course became significantly crispier. I don’t think a single person in the last 4 groups shot under par.

Rory had one birdie in 18 holes. That was one hell of a sun. I think the problem was much more SUN-day.

Last 8 golfers to tee off

Clark-even
Rory-even
Scottie-even
DJ-+2
English-+2
Xander-+2
Rickie-+4
Nagano-+5

It became hard as hell to hold any shot close to the greens

And you didn't see Rory being passive coming in? I know what I just spent 5 hours watching. The golf channel just made pretty much the same point about him.

I think Clark deserved it. But he said he looked at the leaderboard at the 15th and had a 3-shot lead and immediately lost focus. 15 and 16 he let Rory back in. Rory's pedigree and all that experience got him no closer. Story of the day.
