And this one.

After that, He poured water into a basin and began to wash the disciples’ feet and dry them with the towel that was around Him.

nd that he was quoting a bible verse when he told one of his players that there is “always a master and a servant.”

“I was quoting the scripture,” Adams told Stadium.

Quoting or paraphrasing? And in what context?

Watching the way Texas Tech fans are trying to backtrack on this and Chris Beard is absolutely hilarious.

Luke 17:7-10 is the parable of the master and the servant, now are you done being a fricking snowflake

“Which one of you having a servant tending sheep or plowing will say to him when he comes in from the field, ‘Come at once and sit down to eat’? Instead, will he not tell him, ‘Prepare something for me to eat, get ready, and serve me while I eat and drink; later you can eat and drink’? Does he thank that servant because he did what was commanded? In the same way, when you have done all that you were commanded, you should say, ‘We are unworthy servants; we’ve only done our duty.’”

So yea, so that's the full passage you just mentioned. No where in this passage does it state what the coach stated. Nowhere in the bible does it state, "there is always master and servant". So no, the coach did not directly quote the bible.

He may have been trying to paraphrase or reference scripture, but he did not do so correctly.

Surely you aren’t naive enough to think that his entire statement to this player was, “there is always a master and a servant”

Quoting the Bible or not, it’s a weird arse thing to say to a player you coach.

This is the type of coaching talent they're gonna need to get used to. No one else with any sense wants to live in the shite hole that is Lubbock, Texas.

he's probably just trying to get the kid to realize he's always going to have to answer to someone. Teaching/ coaching in today's world there's not many who understand that.

Lou Holtz would have been fired not long after he started coaching if he coached today.

That’s weak
Not shocked at this arrogant mentality towards these players who damn near want to treat these kids as property. The Rutgers Coach who kicked players , threw basketballs at them & called players homophobic names was only found out months later when someone secretly released the video.

If this is the type of garbage these players keep signing up for & tolerating .....so be it.

Don’t disagree. Context would help determine if it’s just weird or insulting or downright offensive.
