Texas A&M-- the Fredo Corleone of college football.

Why is it a terrible idea?

Texas has metric shite tons of baggage with their dysfunctional rich boosters, extremely woke university and city, and their history of destroying every conference they're in.

frick adding Texas.

Let’s say this happens. What realistically happens to the rest of the big12? Baylor just won a national championship in basketball. Let’s not pretend the rest of the conference is total scrubs like the American conference or something. Kansas, Texas Tech, Baylor, OK State, Iowa state and West Virginia would need new homes. It’s bigger than just football. KU is a blue blood.

Texas looks like they made a bad move with the LHN.

I get A&M fans being frustrated. They were in the shadow, finally got out, and now Texas seems like they can get back in because of their big name. The level of pettiness by some fans is a little funny, but again, I get it.

But as we’ve talked about numerous times, reason has a very small place on this board

Feel like LSU fans acting like they won’t be replaced as the 2nd premier program in the SEC if Texas enters. That’s not up for debate right?

its just wild that people can just forget how the literal last decade transpired practically over night. getting into the SEC is a very good thing for UT and its funny to see all of the same people who swore up and down that Texas would never be in the SEC and didnt need the SEC and would rather go independent are now giddy as all hell over this. and its almost all targeted at A&M as opposed to simply being happy that Texas is getting into the best football conference around

its insane how all of this has been framed the last 24 hours

A&M’s penis envy over Texas is so encompassing that he used Texas instead of Oklahoma (you know, the Big XII team that makes the playoffs every year) as the team that would be the 2nd premier program in this hypothetical

A new broadcast deal is written the instant Texas and Oklahoma join, plus it kills the Longhorn Network money pit ESPN regrets to this day.

CBS told the SEC to pound sand when TAMU and Mizzou joined and the SEC remained pretty bitter over it.

How do we know ABC/ESPN won't do the same to us? Have we already signed everything?

I feel like some of that is due to the response of some A&M fans, but yes, Texas fans are taking an absurd enjoyment in it after being close to irrelevant in major sports for the majority of the last decade.

Think Texas has made really good moves in their Athletic Dept. recently, and know that in order to take that next step, it’s time to get out of the big 12. Right now they’re a very obvious second fiddle to OU.
