Boosters don’t care enough to do half of the shite in this rumor
They’re used to wiring money to some sketchy bagman like the barber guy in Amite and calling it a day

There is money changing hands on every single major recruit. There always has. The idea that we are throwing around even more than just a couple million total for all 32 is just insane
Right, I do think it’s clear that A&M is throwing out more than anyone else this recruiting cycle but the 25M thing seems made up. Props to A&M for playing NIL better than everyone else.

They would literally be breaking Texas state law and undoubtedly be doing illegal tax shite

Why is it not fathomable? It is a tax write-off for a wealthy individual. He/she also gets the entertainment of football. TAMU has a large wealthy fanbase. The only people mad about this seems to be the old guard who sees their position in CFB threatened. I give TAMU a tip of the hat on how organized they are. I am hoping AU copies their system.

So they just copied what UGA/Bama does every year?
Bama and UGA weren’t making kids millionaires prior to NIL.

Oh sweet summer child.
If they were doing that, then why did A&M wait until this year?
Logically, this “now everyone is doing what Bama always did” doesn’t hold up.
I have no doubt Bama and UGA were cheating, but they weren’t handing out million dollar checks left and right.

I would imagine TAMU was doing it, just like everyone else. The difference now how you can organize and leverage internal resources more efficiently. As a result, a school such as TAMU will be more effective at the process.

I have mixed feelings on whether or not I want this be successful and for other programs to do the same thing.
You will truly find that only about 45-60 programs can sustain the money to do this maybe even less. And within that 50 or so only about 25 programs can truly every year raise the tens of millions per recruiting class. This is 25 million per year and some dude who just doesn't pan out can ride the pine and collect millions.
We are moving toward a break in the NCAA. You have the NAIA below the NCAA and then you will have some organization about the NCAA when the top schools in the top conferences break away.
You can thank UGA and OU for their lawsuit for starting this back in the 1980s. I actually think the NFL and the top programs are moving toward some kind of agreement outside of the NCAA for football.

According to a message board user who goes by SlicedBread, Aggie boosters spent between $25 and $30 million to sure-up the nation’s top class. He reported that the effort was targeted and coordinated.

Doesn’t Auburn have the most recruiting violations in NCAA history outside the Pony Express?

You are assuming I am being critical of their system.

This is hilarious coming from an auburn fan

Come on. Really? You expect me to believe the rest of the article with that lazy shite?

A) the article treats a claim from a random message board poster as fact
B) people are ignoring how the amount of cash should be divided by 4 or even 5 to get the annual amounts, even if this is true.
So the claim is basically that the average player is getting about the same amount of money as Albert Means (Bama) or Michael Beasley at K-State per year. Obviously the lowly 3 star is getting less than Perkins or the QB, but on average.

You mean an OU fan named SlicedBread on the Internet doesn’t have the inside scoop?

Agreed. This may be a real number but spread over 4 years makes it much easier to stomach.
I have no doubt that they paid serious dollars to get this class together. Anyone thinking A&M will remain an 8-4 team with this talent accumulation is missing the bigger picture.
