Yeah. I do not understand why they insist on keeping teams in markets where there is no fan support when there are cities that want a team. I get why fans in some markets do not come out though, after you watch good players come up and get traded away year after year why would you bother supporting the team. That is why they really need to implement some type of salary cap structure in the next CBA, if the players union doesn’t like it lock them out as long as it takes. Owners that refuse to spend on their teams should also get the boot.

I actually think that would be a pretty fun way to watch a game No lines, can get up and watch from a different section every half inning or so. Chances of getting a foul ball are WAY up. Not how I'd want to watch every game, but it'd be cool to experience as a one off.

loved going to astros games during the tanking era.

could move to any seat in the stadium besides suites and diamond club. Would sit a few innings behind home plat,e then go over to Crawford boxes

Every now and then we have a thread on here wondering if New Orleans could get a MLB team. There is always some posters saying we wouldn’t have fan support. We could beat this I’m sure

Corporate tickets would be the biggest hangup for New Orleans

Even when the Astros blew, oil majors and law firms didn't bother canceling their season tickets.

location would be a problem in New Orleans too. Where would you put it without mowing down a ton of property?

there would have been more people there if they weren't playing the shite Rockeys.

The Marlins are 28th in attendance, with about 11k people per game. Which is worse than numerous WNBA teams. The Rockies home attendance, even being one of the worst teams in MLB history is almost 3x the number of what the Marlins average.

There is no future for baseball in Florida aside from spring training. Marlins have 2 rings in their short history and an awesome fairly new stadium where fans are out of the elements and they still don't give a shite. Contract both Marlins and Rays.

eh. to be fair, i think that about 15-30mins before the first pitch, no? what did the stands look like after 3 innings? I mean, probably still abysmal, but maybe not THAT bad.

Reported attendance was 5,800. So either the OP is out of context, or somebody lied.
Doesn’t really change the overall point though that Miami attendance is always bad.

They need to ship MLB teams out of Florida. The populous just doesn’t care about them.

They should just let the fans sit in the dugout.

According to my quick Google search, reported attendance is based on tickets sold, not the number of people that actually attended. So if I high number of season ticket holders and corporate sponsors with seats aren't attending then the actual headcount in the stadium could still be way lower than the reported attendance figure.

Id have definitely thought that Marlins games could have a Wrigley Field type atmosphere with a little Havana / Cuban flair if done correctly. Drums and Latin music coming from the stands, etc.

That stadium seems soulless and corporate and they have definitely not pulled it off.

How the hell are the Marlins affording to pay millions to each player? Where is the source? TV viewership is down. Attendance here is nil. What is the source?

Several stands shot down in the 5th. Worst MLB atmosphere I’ve ever experienced

That fanbase and region doesn’t deserve the two world championships the Marlins won. It’s a shame one of them was over Cleveland.
