So does Calipari. So did Dean Smith. Why do they only have a combined three titles? Roy Williams had stacked rosters at KU, yet never managed to win a title.

It is hard to believe any school successfully recruiting one and done draft talent isn't paying. The most you can hope is they get an education while in school and don't turn a blind eye to Fulmer cup points.

He missed a couple games with an injury but I don’t think he was too limited.
His defense was almost always on point. He gave good effort there and has a natural understanding of how to defend. Jayson Tatum, while a much better player, did not have that defensive intuition.
I haven’t watched Reddish this year, but it blows my mind that they want to use him as a ball handler. He was one of the worst drivers I’ve seen, so many times he would dribble the ball right off his foot. Zion would pass them ball and being with Zion is great for any shooter, but Reddish was about 34 percent from 3, I think.
Zion makes everyone around him better but especially a guy like what Reddish is expected to be. RJ Barrett...yeah not so much
My biggest critique of K last year was the amount of freedom he gave to Barrett who played hero ball way too much when he had Zion as an option.

Krzyzewski has had Duke in the top 10 teams for much of 33 of the past 36 years. To me that’s more impressive than having the most wins all time, the second most titles of all time, and being tied for the most final 4 appearances all time, not to mention what he did with USA basketball.
Not as impressive when you consider the recruiting classes he has had

he won a championship with a starting five of Jon Scheyer, Nolan Smith, Kyle Singler, Lance Thomas, and Brian Zoubek. That was his best coaching job. His worst recent job was the Tatum/Giles year. In a strange way he underperforms when he has too many moving parts.

Dale Brown could not sniff a Championship with Shaq, Chris Jackson, Stanley Roberts, And Vernel Singleton.

I would rather have Larry Brown Dean Smith, or Bob Knight than K if trying to win one game
But K is top 5% in building programs
Guess it depends what you want

Yep. Not making the final four a couple years totally negates 30+ years of history

And now he loses to Lehigh and Mercer with 4 lottery picks in his starting lineup.

the lehigh Duke team had one lottery pick - Austin Rivers. Lehigh had Cj McCollum, an NBA stud. That loss wasn't nearly as bad in retrospect. The Mercer loss was awful, that Duke team was hopeless.

You know he won a title after those losses, right?

And what's more amazing is how they benefit from the refs over the years. And still don't win more titles.....

His teams were better when they weren't a one and done factory. Teams loaded with freshmen really struggle to shoot sometimes. It was their undoing against Michigan State last year.

It’s hard to win the big one with the one & done method, and naturally that is what a blue blood like duke attracts
Duke has one with the Okafor-led team.
Cal has one with the AD led team.
In this era, that is it off the top of my head.

5 national titles and 12 Final Fours beg to differ.

When it comes to bracket time I look for teams with alot of upper class players that have been together for a few years.

For example, 2001 national championship game in the first half when Jay Williams flat out tackled Jason Gardner and was not called for his 3rd foul. Would have changed the entire game. Arizona may not have won, but Williams not getting that foul killed any momentum my Wildcats had. Not that i am still bitter or anything. LOL

That kind of stuff has happened plenty over the last 30 years. Though Duke fans would never admit it.
