Oh, so much fodder here. I'll go point by point.
quote:
I mean, this is getting hilarious. You've lost. Every point you've made has been rebutted again and again.
This is exactly the tone-deafness level of Cardinals fans. You cannot, by definition, rebut the reasoning of why people dislike the Cardinals-- it is just that-- their reasoning, to illustrate, illuminate, or expound upon.
quote:
The delusional one is you, my friend. In fact, you are so delusional that you at one point claimed to not even care about the Cardinals because they have so little effect on your team (the Twins), but continue to try to illustrate just how bad the Cardinals fanbase and team are while, at every turn, your proclamations are thwarted by reason.
Again, reading is too hard for Cardinals fans.
I said I have every reason not to care; Cardinals fans make it impossible, like a giant turd someone puts in the middle of a common area. You can't really not notice it.
Nothing has been 'thwarted'; Cardinals fans have tried to pin the idea of my dislike to jealousy, to making arguments that a part represents the whole of the dislike, etc. These tactics are crushed regularly by Cardinals fans when people say 'Patriot Way', or the Cowboys fan says 'Well, 5 Rings!', no matter how much the rest of the world is fed their unjustified garbage attention.
quote:
It's as if you must be right or else your delusion of legitimate hatred will fail and you will have to come to grips with the fact that you are, without doubt, the most insanely butthurt individual on this Board. For frick's sake, you're a Twins fan. Why in the shite are you even in this thread?
Actually, it is just the opposite; Cardinal fans are tripping over themselves, in a thread for people who hate the Cardinals to explain why they hate the Cardinals; you have to be in here, to write off why people don't like your team-- that's an amazing level of insecurity.
You want to know why I'm in this thread? Because the rest of the sporting world has to deal with people like you. I wish to God you people could be like Giants fans, or Dodgers fans, or might even start the road towards recovery and come back to maybe a Red Sox level of awfulness as a first step in not being the worst collection of sports fans out there, to the outside world.
Give being only a minor douchebag a chance, Cardinals fans. The rest of us would appreciate the marked improvement.
I want to take what you are saying seriously, but I can't. It's all just so... Laughable.

im sure you probably thought that would be funny when you wrote it.

It is laughable because you don't have perspective; it isn't a plight that is unique to Cardinals fans-- that happens, to some degree, across all sports. We insulate the things we like from outside critiques. We're all guilty of it, at times.

No. It is just hard to find ways to get through the bubble of blind homers, to get people who ask an honest question like the OP 'Why do people hate the Cardinals?'. If they can recognize, if even for only a half-heartbeat, and understand that they are not universally beloved for a myriad of reasons unrelated to jealousy, it is a net advancement in the cause of returning the Cardinals fan base to some semblance of being just another sports fan base, that isn't hated wherever it goes, outside of its bubble.

You keep going back to this as if what I am saying should immediately be discounted because I'm a Cardinals fan. The problem is that you cannot articulate a legitimate reason as to why you hate the Cardinals. You don't like them. Fine. But your reasons are fricking asinine.

i mean this when i say it. i really think you might be a legit psycho.
i dont necessarily disagree that some cards fans can be smug. You of course think they're not as bad as yankees fans which is hilarious. You are so far down the worm hole i think if i ever met you in person i would be legit worried.

When you are arguing for a disinterested judgement from a pre-position of positive advocacy, yes it immediately does delegitimize what you say.
That's why we have adversarial courts, as an example-- we don't have the Judge saying 'Hey. The State is right, how long do you want your sentence to be' as the opening phase of arguing a case. We also don't have judges saying 'Hey. The plaintiff got screwed. Explain why you shouldn't be penalized for being wrong'. And make no mistake-- when trying to determine the legitimacy of others reasoning for dislike, sitting in judgement is exactly what you are attempting to do.
You might think my reasons are asinine. I fully expect that, from Cardinals fans.
It does not, however, make them asinine to non-Cardinal fans.

I mean this when I say it; you might be garden variety dumb, if you can't understand why the discussion has gone the way it has.

Yankee fans have been tempered a bit, by not winning a World Series in 5 years. The lack of playoff appearances has also helped temper them-- but St. Louis has no such throttling-back on their douchebaggery.

quote: 2)holy shite at the combination of butthurt/jealousy/and flat out imagining things. He acts as if every thread on the MSB gets hijacked by Cardinals fans and that's just simply not true. In fact, I don't ever recall it happening in a thread that wasn't about baseball As usual, a Cardinal fan that can barely read. It isn't about the MSB; it is about why people hate the Cardinals-- and that goes far beyond the MSB. It goes to the national, regional, and even local sports media, to the conduct of fans, and more. Great example: about three weeks ago, former Razorback women's golfer Stacy Lewis was playing in the Yokahama LPGA event- a Razorback-oriented station did a nice little interview with her for the morning talk show-- and they asked her two questions about the Cardinals, without her bringing them up first. I'd even give them a pass if she had brought it up, or had said 'Well, I want to do as well as the Cardinals' --- it is exactly that kind of stupid bullshite that poisons people's attitudes towards St. Louis. They can't even talk about something as far remove from baseball as women's golf, without injecting the Cardinals. Cardinal fans are a plague on sports. Reply • Options • Back to Top
I was just using the MSB as an example, let me try another I listen to Memphis sports radio every single week day (pretty big hotbed for Cardinals fans wouldn't you say?) and I have NEVER heard a caller call in anr hijack a conversation for the Cardinals
Idk if you are trolling, live in an area that's a total different universe than me (if it's Arkansas, then that makes sense), or if you just completely make up this stuff in your head
.I certainly does not happen all the time as you act like it does
ETA: Also, I cringe everytime I hear a broadcaster or poster use the phrase "Cardinal way" just like I cringe when I hear "patriot way" and you won't see me post the phrase in a serious sense
Quit generalizing everyone damn

Go Cards!

Because you can't go take a leak in Missouri without being asked about them if they're in playoff contention

What's ironic is that BoardReader is actually a diehard STL Cardinals fan. He goes so far as to masterbate to "That's a winner!"

Well done. Mizzoukillz on suicide watch?

I think he's banned....but I'm sure he's reading this thread from heaven

Killz emailed to say he would be proud to eat crow on the board for the performance of the Cardinals but that Ice was a twat and he was unjustly banned. Or something like that. I may have editorialized.

It's a better place without him. Now the Cardinals can join him in purgatory.
