if there are truly more tapes

Did he consent to them?

Why should he lose over what he does on his own private time and was not representing his team or the NBA?

no, but many franchises would face serious financial issues

Then I seriously doubt the owners of those franchises will vote to force a sale of the team

Silver is banning you from attending any NBA games for that laughter.

Under federal antitrust law, any damages Sterling receives would be automatically multiplied by three. He may have additional claims under California antitrust law.

This will be fun.

If a pre-ban valuation claims that the team was worth $1B and he can only sell it for $700M after he was banned, the NBA could be on the hook for $900M, or more than what he sold the franchise for.

Sterling was railroaded, and it sets a terrible presidence with the owners. That being said, if anyone was going to get railroaded, I'm glad it was Sterling hah.

He might have been railroading the wrong coochie. But, his punishment is well deserved.

Don't even act like you'd kick her out of bed. It's disingenuous at best.

Which has nothing to do with his ability to impact the business. I know you must understand this. It's a pretty basic concept of employment law and business management.

I was glad OJ went to prison for a decade over the kidnapping / armed robbery charges, but I'd have much rather he been busted for murder to begin with about a decade before.

What's the general consensus in here about the penalties?

Obviously they are WAY too strong, but are people on here just as fake outraged as the talking heads on TV are?
