I agree.

Services tended and purchased is a mutual agreement. It can only happen when both favor the service/transaction. If players don't want to play for a racist owner, they need to be prepared to walk away from payment that would be owed for their services.

The retard in this thread is going off the rails with the quickness

if this affects the price of the team, assuming he could get liability on the NBA (not likely, but possibly), they could be forced to pay him hundreds of millions of dollars. the NBA cannot afford that

No. Explain it to me. No one had to play for the clippers by contract? Not even rookies? What would happen if they said they woukdnt play?

I love how they are referred to as minorities. Isn't that term in itself racist?

There are fewer blacks/hispanics in general and as business owners in this country, so I see nothing wrong with classifying them as minorities. They are numerically the minority and the minority as far as "social groups" go.

My point is no one is arguing he should be banned on the logic of it being difficult for him to run his team in a majority black league. Everyone is going with his racist comments. Regardless of type of employees he has.

Whoever brought up Marge Schott, sterling looks like Gandhi compared to her.

I think we need to all sit back and understand the moral of the story: Women are terrible.

Not everyone can walk away without harming their career.

Recording the phone conversation was a shitty move, but now that the info is out Silver/owners have no other choice but to try and remove him from the league. The only other option would be to let the players out of their contracts but that would be like a death penalty to the Clippers and probably hurt the NBA far worse.

so their option is to walk away from the nba bc their owner is racist and forfeit their contracts and lifetime of earnings and that should be their only recourse of action?

So you seriously believe they will move an entire fricking franchise because of one man's private opinion?

I think it all depends on the buyers. First choice would be to keep them in LA, but if a buyer group from another city puts up enough money, Im guessing a move would be inevitible

Just say what you have to say. People are still going to know you support Sterling and don't really have a problem with what he said. If you had any problem with it, you wouldn't be defending him.

I have a real problem with someone's property being taken from them because of their views. From that standpoint I guess I do support Sterling.

Did we ever find out her motive? Did she just want to get back at him? Her gold digger days are over.

Which is why this is the best step for the league.

Let DeAndre Jordan and Jared Dudley out of their contracts. Jordan's there because LA matched his RFA tender and Dudley's there due to a trade, meaning neither is there of their free will.

CP3, Blake, etc? frick them. They chose to extend or re-sign with the team well after the Elgin Baylor case made a lot of this stuff public.

Honestly, I'll tell you all exactly why Silver pulled this card. If Sterling only gets caught being racist to blacks, he wouldn't have been so harshly treated. The second he talked about Jewish racism in Israel, Silver must protect the image of the motherland and call out the guy.

It's pretty despicable and cowardly of Silver if you ask me. The double standards with regards to racism are just ridiculous.

If they get drafted by the clippers, they can only play for the clippers.
