I've enjoyed going to bed at 9:30 pm the past couple months and not staying until 11 watching Astros games.

I’ll be back.

My emotions are fragile enough to make me change my sports viewing

No.

What we are witnessing is the beginning of the death of sports in this country.

Uhh...where did they go? When we get live sports besides Korean baseball and fanless Nascar do you honestly think people won't watch?

I don't think viewership will change but I think this has accelerated declines in attendance. You have people who have fallen on hard times financially. You have people realizing that they kind of enjoyed doing other things the last few months and don't need sports as much as they thought. Although not as big a number as you'd think from reading this board, there will be some people who are tired of the politics and decide they won't support some of this crap anymore with their wallets. Personally, I don't feel the same way about the NFL and NBA that I did before all of this (and the NBA/China bullshite), but that's just me.

You are more eloquent than I am.

Gus had sort of made me quit AU football. I went and played 9 holes during the bowl game fiasco because I was disgusted. I did watch the “Unfair in Jordan Hare.”

Years ago, football was my weekend. I’ve sort of limited it to night games or rainy days the last couple of years. I like basketball, but I don’t build my schedule around it.

I will not actively avoid watching sports, but I’m less likely to make a big effort to go to a game or watch a game on TV.

I’m done with the NFL. I guess you can say I was done since last year. I didn’t watch one saints game. I use to watch every game, but to me each year has gotten worse. I don’t even miss watching it. A bunch of prima donnas making millions bitchin all the time is enough for me. I’ll give college football a chance , but I’m not pumped for the season like I normally am. I think if Covid taught me something it was the fact that sports isn’t everything. I don’t even miss it that much. In a way it was a blessing in disguise. ESPN should just be CNN 8 The Ocho because it’s all political. Sports was one of the things I could watch to get a break from politics, but they just crushed that for me. I honestly wish professional sports would fold and the big shots would have to get a normal job and have the stress and worry about paying their bills and putting food on their tables like a lot of their fans do.

The NFL/NBA will return and the ratings will be huge because we're a society desperate for sports.

As annoying as cancel culture is, boycott/"I'm done watching" culture doesn't get enough hate for being annoying counts.

Regardless of what side of the political spectrum you lie on, I think when you mix in too much politics with sports, the professional leagues, the sports networks, you lose fans, period. We want our SPORTS! if you want politics there are several other channels for that.

Viewership will stay rather consistent with previous years. I do believe we will see a drop off in attendance and especially merchandise and apparel. People are going to see you wearing a shirt of a specific team and spin it in some negative manner. Fans aren't going to want to hear that B.S.

Yes because the majority of fans aren't bleeding pussies like you

I think people are learning they don't miss sports as much as they thought they would. Sports for a lot of people was just something to turn on in the evening. There are so many streaming options that it is kind of easily replaced.

I won't be watching any pro sports and LSU is teetering a thin line. My viewership and attendance to a couple games a year my not hurt them but I'll take that money and put it into something more useful like my 401k.

I'll dial back my commitment, but in the end, they're won't be enough people who stop viewing to make a dent. Part of me feels that trying to boycott is pointless and this country country has been screwed for a long time, so we might as well enjoy things like sports while we can

Ya, I'll never give up LSU sports, but Jerrruh can find another marginally attached NFL fan to spend $100 on an Uber, $30 on a double, $200 on a ticket and $15 on a burger

NCAAF, NCAAB, NHL, PGA and F1 will get more of my attention
