i think the analysis by sports illustrated is spot on.
NFL does seem like much more of a chess match whereas college football is like a blitzkrieg.
I much prefer college football for that reason, but can’t fault anyone for liking the nfl style more.

CFB is centered around several top teams and that's it. Those teams will always be in the running no matter what
Holy hyperbole. Alabama was 6-7 in 2006. Auburn won a national title in 2010 after starting the season outside the top 20. Miami hasn’t sniffed a national title since the early 2000’s, nor has Nebraska. Oregon has been to two national championships in the last 8 years. Teams like Missouri and West Virginia have been one win away from a national championship berth. Kansas won an orange bowl not long ago. Utah finished 2008 ranked #2 in the country. Texas followed a national title appearance with a string of poor seasons. There was a time not long ago that South Florida was ranked 2nd in the country. Those “top teams” change in a yearly basis. Sure there are always 1-2 teams that out together a decade long amazing run, but there are new contenders every season

The average person I know that prefers the NFL doesn't watch anything for strategic entertainment.

I will plan my day around college football.... not the NFL.... it’s Toooooo structured.... it’s just not as entertaining to me today as it was , say 25 years ago...... the atmosphere of college football is what continues to draw me in.......

NFL for quality of product on the field. CFB for everything else.

This is code for every fricking team is the same, runs the same shite and if you don't have a superstar QB - might as well stay home.

College is on Saturday
Several games on at the same time
Better to gamble on
Better atmosphere
11am to midnight* there is football
Teams have drastically different game plans leading to odd mismatches, especially in the G-5/recruitingly challenged locations. A navy vs Houston game is interesting because of how different the teams are built.
Oh yeah and I don’t have to work the next day.

And they will run the same shite for decades before circumstance eventually forces them to change.
For example, many NFL coaches that whine about how college isn't producing the type of quarterback they "need" anymore.
Well... tough luck, buttercup. fricking ADAPT.
You can run gimmicky shite in college with an athlete at quarterback and get away with it because of the talent discrepancies between teams. Everyone in the NFL is a freak of nature so you need something between the ears to succeed at quarterback.
NFL>College

CFB and it ain’t close

try going to a South Alabama home game at Ladd Stadium.
I know which atmosphere(s) you are referring to but I had to laugh when I saw that line. I support my school but most people around where I live are sheep. It's either Alabama or Auburn.

I can’t even be bothered to watch a marquee nfl game. Ten minutes in I’m bored. This has nothing to do with players kneeling, and everything to do with the NFL being boring as shite.

You do realize there are college fantasy leagues right?

I think, generally speaking, field position, punting and field goals is more crucial in the nfl as opposed to college, where the big play/quick strike offenses can get a team out of bad field position in one play.
For those reasons, the nfl chess analogy is a good one- nfl offenses like to move slowly and surely like pawns to establish position.

And that’s boring to me...... I’d like to see the running game make a comeback in the NFL.... that would spike my interest some..... these players just make tooo damn much money....ESP the ones that aren’t worth a shite..... I give you Sam Bradford as a prime example.....

From a strategic entertainment standpoint, pro football annihilates college football.
Every team for the most part plays the exact same way, and the team with the better qb wins
College football truly has different tactics and strategies to try and win the game

If the Saints are doing better than LSU...NFL.
Vice versa....CFB.
