Hopefully they’ll get a deal done after the season. It’ll be another season to consider in deciding what the Ravens think they should pay him.

All the owners and GMs hate the Browns for setting the market this way.

browns were in it with 2 other teams, thus the over pay.

this is nothing like the watson situation, there is only 1 bidder

Which is exactly why he wants to get to UFA to have multiple suitors and end up with a deal like Watsons or closer to Watsons

I don’t think there will be bidders for Lamar. He can get paid by the ravens because they are terrified of letting an mvp winner go from a optics standpoint,

Other teams know what Lamar is and there isn’t many coaches that want to build a team around a Qb who can’t really throw

You just need one team to act like the Browns and you get the money.

I don't think he's worth it. I don't think any of the quarterbacks are worth that percentage of the salary cap.

But, assuming he doesn't have a career ending injury, he would get it from someone.

He is an absolute fricking idiot if he really turned down a deal with more guaranteed money than Wilson

This. He gets hit OFTEN. It just takes one to end all that guaranteed money. $133 million guaranteed? Hellz yes.

Oh well, good luck Lamar. Hope you ball out, stay healthy and get paid. I have no reason to not wish him well, and I really hate seeing people frick their lives up. Too many things can go wrong in the NFL.

I’d take a ban bet on that teams would absolutely want a former league MVP in his prime. That’s silly

It was 133 million into his account at signing

Over 180 million guaranteed

Except we just saw a QB do this exact same leverage play and have the that one type of hit happen and still break records for guaranteed money and QB dollars immediately after without taking a snap

In Lamar's defense, when was the last time an MVP-level QB hit the open market before his second contract? He has precedent on his side.

I think worst case scenario, he gets the contract that he just rejected in 2 years.

That Qb averages 260 yards a game with his arm

Lamar averages 172

Stop trying to compare Lamar and Dak. One is a Qb who can run. One is a Qb that has to run

He is getting used by the NFLPA to make progress towards guaranteed contracts.

The greedy piece of shite is trying pull a Deshaun type deal. But doesn't realize that the only reason Deshaun got that deal is because the Browns are literally the most dysfunctional franchise in this league. Props to the Ravens for not budging. Last thing we need is full guarantees becoming a norm and screwing team competitiveness because team are tied to bullshite contracts. Not to mention Lamar ain't the type of QB I'd pay that much for anyway.

Tag Jackson the next two and let him walk after that
tagging him the next two seasons is gonna break the bank. you're likely looking at close to 50 mil next season and it escalates from there

Acting as his own agent is insane. And turning down $250 million with $113 million guaranteed shows it. If he gets hurt or has a mediocre season that deal is gone.

Pretty wild to turn that down. Especially if he didn't even have an agent to pay.

WTF. Is he betting on himself being worth more than $250 million. Or is he looking to leave Baltimore on the first flight out.
