Also a rumor of Morikawa.
That would be surprise.
Agreed. He's not only top 10 but doesn't have the baggage like Dustin and some of the others.

No Laying Up is reporting Morikawa rumors are “categorically false” and that is from Colin’s camp.
Morikawa made no sense at all. I mean the guy had a rainbow pride greens book at a tournament last year and went to Cal-Berkeley. The chances of him joining the Saudis was less than zero.

But I think it’s just as ridiculous to cheer for LIV because you don’t like the people behind the PGA. That’s a logic pretzel one is creating
Jay Monahan can stop this nonsense today. He's been granting "releases" to top PGA golfers to the Saudi Internation played in Saudi since its inception. He's making himself this beast and polarizing the line between the 2 sides. He has the media and henchmen doing his bidding. He starts fires and folks wonder where the heat is coming from.
Go back and research what the media wrote about and what fans predicted when baseball finally allowed free agency in major league baseball in the mid-70s. The freakin' sky was falling, it was the end of baseball, it wouldn't sustain itself, the players are just greedy bastards.
History always seems to repeat itself, doesn't it? That's because it's always about money and how big a slice of the pie you get.

Football, baseball, and basketball players also get told when to play, when to practice, etc
They have an offseason. When is golf’s offseason? Golf used to be on a break from after the PGA Championship in late August until January.

Considering his responses when asked during the US Open, he already has been. Not a great look for him, not that he really cares about his image anyways.
So typical of sports fan and media. "We're tired of clichéd interviews and sound bites. We want coaches and players to say what they really think!" One does and it's, "What a douche!"

Oh & Norman said they just submitted their application yesterday for OWGR points.

Don't know why anybody is cheering on LIV

I don’t think people would have if the PGA had not gone all in with their sanctimonious hypocritical bull shite.
Guys like Chamblee and Lynch with their daily hit pieces and character assaults are doing nothing but swaying public opinion in the other direction.
This right here is where I’m at.

But that's the point. He didn't say what he really thought. He deflected the entire time.

This is all fine and dandy, but if you take less swings in competitive events (which you will if you play less tournaments and those tournaments are 54 holes), you are unlikely to maintain your peak level of play.
And since none of the majors are going to shorten their format to 54 holes (they need all four days of sponsorship) that becomes a factor too.

Mike Whan hinted it would become harder for LIV guys to make majors, not easier
even if OWGR approves their application, the LIV Tour is going to have to add a lot of events for this not to happen. OWGR takes into account your last two years, with the lowest multiplier being ~40 tournaments. If they're only playing 8 this year and 12 next year, a lot of those dudes aren't going to have enough tournaments to accrue enough points to qualify for the majors

Golfs off-season is whenever you want. For example, DJ didn’t play mid October through late January, a 3 month break

These guys are still trying to get to where baseball, football, and basketball have been for almost 50 years.
I'm sure they are but those sports produce A LOT more revenue than the PGA Tour. Those players also don't get to choose when they feel like playing

He said exactly what he thought. He thought it sucks that they keep asking him questions about LIV and not the US Open Tournament that he is there to play.

"I think it kind of sucks, too. Y'all are throwing this black cloud over the U.S. Open," Koepka said last week. "I mean, it's one of my favorite events and I don't know why you guys keep doing that. But the more legs you give it, the more you keep talking about it."
Considering Koepka is a huge name in golf, and considering his brother had already joined the new golf league, the questions continued. Koepka continued to express his frustration with that line of questioning at the U.S. Open.
"I don't understand. I'm trying to focus on the U.S. Open, man. Like I legitimately don't get it. I'm tired of the conversations, I'm tired of all this stuff," Koepka said. "Like I said, y'all are throwing a black cloud on the U.S. Open. I think that sucks."

Who cares about the majors now
You would have to win 40 majors just to get the check Dustin Johnson got for showing up
Majors are now minors

A shot ton of golfers have done just this and passed the money up
How much of that decision is based on not giving up sponsorships? That can often bring in far more than the golf itself.
If my sponsor doesn't care which tour I'm on, then maybe changing is in my best interest. But if the sponsor threatens to cut me off, then...
