I swear your posting style is that you purposefully take the contrarian view and then beat that drum until your hands bleed...and then you beat it even more.
You're either masochistic or just a constant troll.

At the end of the day playing golf is these guys job just like us normal people have a job.
In some ways, yes, but not in others. I didn’t dream of being the best in the world at my current occupation when I was five. A fair amount of pro golfers probably did, and LIV doesn’t help them achieve that in its current form.

Choosing your allegiance based on “I don’t like the people behind the PGA” seems so strange
They aren't going to offer more benefits and freedom so what's left?
And this moral high ground they are looking for is ridiculous. It's like the PGA hasn't figured out we can all google.
"U.S. goods and services trade with Saudi Arabia totaled an estimated $45.6 billion last year, with a U.S. surplus of more than $5 billion, according to the U.S. Trade Representative's website."

I don’t think wanting the PGA to win and LIV to lose is actually the contrarian view at all. If you step outside this echo chamber, rooting for LIV is the contrarian view

Jay Monahan is on the governing body of the OWGR…..
LIV with no ranking points effectively kills itself
I am interested in seeing the legal argument that OWGR will make to keep LIV out.
In before, "they only play 54 holes" as there are tours in the OWGR that play 54 hole tournaments already.

I agree the morality argument is ridiculous, hypocritical, and sanctimonious
But I think it’s just as ridiculous to cheer for LIV because you don’t like the people behind the PGA. That’s a logic pretzel one is creating

No idea why anyone who attends a PGA event would celebrate this.
Just about everyone watches golf on TV, so you’re referring to a very niche demographic.

Well, it's obvious that those that are signing-up for LIV don't give two-shits about the rankings.
Some of you hold on to the ideology of sports, that being #1 is everything, and that nothing else matters more.
While LIV may get to have the events count towards WGR, the fact is that this, as Kisner put it, "Ain't no hobby". This is their JOB. So, if another company comes along and provides you with an income stream that is exponentially better than the one you currently have, then you have to make a decision for you and your family.
We place WAAAAAAAAAAAY to much emphasis on being the best. At the end of the day, if someone can make a shite-ton more than they currently do and still play the sport they love...then why begrudge them for that?
Posted on 6/21/22 at 9:45 am to RummelTiger
There are very few people in here that actually begrudge the players who are leaving for LIV. The decision makes sense for them from a monetary standpoint

At no point have I said I begrudge them for that. I’m just pointing out the downside of their choice, not condemning them for making that choice.

Everyone so mad that only low rent hacks will be in the PGA
The lower tier of paid golf
Major leagues vs. double A ball
Its even better because low rent hacks like Scheffler and McIlroy cried over not being invited to the top flight professional league
Love it

The leadership and muscle behind both leagues suck. One is annoying white liberal hypocrites, and the other are murderous Muslims
I get that, but the “faces” of LIV, mainly Norman, Phil, McDowell have been mostly about pimping their tour and not crucifying individuals on a daily basis. I know there are many that hate Phil but millions love him. That the media would go after him so hard was always going to turn off a ton of people.

That will be their argument? Really?

You can’t possibly believe that Rory McIlroy wasn’t courted by LIV, can you?

That might get Bryson to come back to the PGA Tour. What is his deal with Brooks, anyhow?
