That's not really the point, it's how much of the story was embellished to make him look good, especially during a heated political spat. While LeBron didn't stop it, it goes back to the whole "Fake News" thing. It's not Fake News, but its news reported at a slant to implant an idea in the viewers head that the news organization wants.
Or maybe, just maybe, most (if not all) of you fools looking for reasons to attack him b/c you are butthurt he dissed King Trump just straight up didn't pay attention to the reports on this story past reading the headlines?
No, I'm sure you all read the full articles and watched the full news packages on it.

My problem is this.... Are Americans supposed to independently research every news story they come across to verify that the media isn't leaving out crucial details to the story? They constantly come on my TV screen and tell me how important they are, yet now I can't trust that they are telling me the full story?
My problem is this... I don't believe you even read the original full articles. Never mind looking up anything past that.
And to answer your question, yes, you should always read multiple sources.

The LeBron James Family Foundation, it should be noted, plans to spend at least $2 million annually "when the school has grown to capacity."
That’s what I’m talking about when I say he’s putting forth $2 million.
I think it’s a great. I don’t take the grandstanding mindset where I think he should be obligated to donate money to charity. It’s his money and he can do what he wishes with it. So the fact he is putting that amount towards the school yearly is a great thing.
Because of the damn MAGA crowd here, my beef is being misunderstood. It’s not with LeBron and the school, it’s with the coverage of it.

Maybe, just maybe, you need to quit reading what John Smith posts on Twitter and the headline ESPN pastes on their website or bottom line. Take the time to, you know, read.

Except it isn't a lie. LeBron is doing what the coverage said he would.
The biggest complaint is some coverage didn't mention Akron school district is doing stuff too, but that doesn't take away from what LeBron is doing.

CNN article
Please point to me where it says the city of Akron is paying 75% of the cost or where it's says the college is picking up the tuition.
Also says he's "running the school"

It doesnt mention any specifics on either side, but dont blame your lack of knowledge on the article
This should have let you know lebron was not completely funding the school
It didnt lie nor did it even hide the facts at all
