Meh, the NFL screwed the Bengals out of a Super Bowl win last year. This is beans compared to that.

I can promise you fans care more about this than the players do, which should tell you something.

First, if he’s talking about 2nd/3rd seed, then yes not playing that game sucks for them

He is talking about that, they needed no help to win the 2nd seed, they controlled their own destiny. Now they don't.

They also had a chance to still win the one seed if KC loses a game. Now they don't.

Did you not watch Monday night? He was one of many men that "manned up" to do what was necessary. And how did the NFL reward him for it? By making the Bengals the team hit the hardest by creating a new policy and over ruling what was already the rule.

Come up with some new material. Pretty tired line you have there. Put a little effort behind it.

New material? You know what's tired? People who post a lot on sports message boards trying to sound edgy by telling us how unimportant sports are to them when their own behavior suggests otherwise. I see this all the time and find it hypocritical every time.

Not sure what’s more intolerable. The Camther fans or the Burrow Bengal fanboys

You heard it here first, folks. If anyone wants to discuss the Cincinnati Bengals being slightly screwed (for doing the right thing nonetheless) on a sports message board, it means you’re a Joey B fanboy and you also want him to frick you. And if you see any Bengals fan bitching, you’re seeing things because a guy from NOLA hasn’t run across any Bengals fan today who are mad and another guy is a group chat with 8 guys who aren’t mad

Is this thread a magnet for retarded takes today or something?

Right, I said not playing that game sucks for them. But they can’t assume a win. Is he arguing to make that game up in week 19, or just wants the NFL to hand them a victory?

That’s not controlling your own destiny, bud.

Cincinnati beating Buffalo would have done that. If Cincinnati and Buffalo win their Wild Card weekend games how come the site for the Bengals-Bills game won't be decided by a coin-flip,bud?

I do wonder if not for twitter/social media....does that game continue? I'd lean towards yes.

The Ravens coin toss provision was added because essentially the NFL is saying “well bengals you could’ve lost the bills game so to simulate the chance you could’ve lost the game we’re going to make you coin flip with the Ravens.”

Conversely, if the bengals had won the bills game they would’ve jumped the Bills for the two seed. The absurdity is the nfl didn’t put in a similar coin toss provision saying “well the bills could’ve lost the bengals game, so to simulate the chance they would’ve lost we’re adding a coin toss to decide who gets home field.”

That’s how the bengals are getting fricked. A specific provision built in accounting for the fact they could’ve lost, but no provision accounting for the fact they could’ve won. A game they were favored to win given they were at home and leading.

The league has no problem making provisions assuming that the bills could have won (them not having to travel to KC in the AFC championship game).

Where are the provisions giving the Bengals credit for the possibility they could have beaten the Bills?

Can't decide if this is more incompetence or hypocrisy on the NFL's part. Ridiculous, for certain.

That's because the NFL already knew who was going to win the game. It was going to be the Bills, just as it was scripted.

I’ve said it already, but y’all may have missed it. The NFL almost always gives the Ravens the benefit of the doubt. Think of the Saints, but the opposite.

Does it make more sense now? The coin toss is a “we can’t screw Baltimore” more than anything.
