Prior to Week 17:

The Bengals controlled their own destiny for the 2 seed.
They had a chance for the 1 seed (needed to win out and Chiefs drop 1).

Now:
Bengals cannot get the 1 seed.
Bengals need the Bills to lose to get the 2 seed (they don’t control their own destiny).

Beyond that, if the Ravens beat the Bengals and play around 1 against each other, then a coin flip ensues for home field. This is based on the logic that the Bengals could have lost Week 17 and thus the Ravens would have won the division and the home playoff game for beating Cincy

However, if the Bills and Bengals both win Week 18 and play in the second round, the game is in Buffalo. Why do the Bengals not get a coin flip here based on the assumption that they could have won Week 17 and thus gotten the 2 seed.

This is mind boggling unfair especially when the team getting fricked is the team that was up 4 with the ball at midfield in a game where the other team’s injury resulted in a cancellation.

There isn’t a price on sportsmanship and feelings

This is the nfl, not a rap concert

The NFL is stupid for not making every attempt to make up this game.

as T Swift said, you need to calm down....

By the way, it's a game, you probably overly love Cincinnati like everyone else in Louisiana, stop it and grow up.

I guess I thought I was on the MSB where sports-relevant stories were discussed and this seems like kind of a big sports story

Lot of outrage from the 3 year Bengals fans.

What happened was, and it has been fully briefed in many threads. The whining about the Bengals is sad and pathetic and tone deaf.

It’s a game and the players are still millionaires

It affects your life 0

I’d wager you seemingly care about this more than any bengals player

I dont think my colleagues realize this yet...

ETA: He served his purpose and won us a NC. It's like tipping a waitress extra now and thinking she wants to come home with you, just sad.

Tone deaf in what way?

You can recognize that the injury is/was bigger than football and also criticize the NFL for how they have handled the implications of the game being, rightfully, postponed.

The two ideas aren’t mutually exclusive

I have yet to hear from a real Bengals or Bills fan, any complaints. Only the Burrow fans in this board are upset. It is a tone deaf position and quite frankly in such a minority of fans, Id be ashamed to have it. Also, I know several Bengals and Bills fans in real life and no one has been the least bit bothered by this setup.

On top of your poll of 4 people being claimed by you to somehow be representative of an entire fan base being absurd, I'd wager you're lying about just those 4 also.

That’s not different than how it normally is. Players laugh and hug and smile after losses while fans break their TVs and shoot their kids.

It’s almost like we are the consumers of a product they provide. If fans didn’t care like they do, players wouldn’t be millionaires playing football.
