But they're so selfish when they sit out, right MSB?

Why don't all players just sit out when they are no longer in contention for the playoffs? Same thing, right?

Unless it's a playoff I completely understand. Also, most players recover from injury fine these days. Acl/mcl/Achilles all have better treatment and turnarounds.

People are acting like he suffered a double leg fracture

If this was the regular season he’d miss a couple games

Can we at least wait for official word on the injury?

It might be a sprained ankle which would kind of undercut the point you are trying to make.

Not really. Dude got carted off with an injury that was completely avoidable.

His choice. I respect his decision.

Just like I respect a player’s decision to sit out.

Why not a playoff as well? Just curious. I hear people say this but the reality is that if you’re concerned about your draft status and potentially risking millions (and rightfully so) what difference does it make if it’s the Indy Bowl or BCS playoff?

He's been a first round pick all season. Why did he ever play a game?

Yes, they are selfish when they quit on their team

but it's not. that's the difference. and now he won't have any games to redeem himself to the NFL scouts by showing that he is fully recovered and can play at his previous level pre-injury, all for a meaningless bowl game

i respect his decision to play in the bowl game, but i really can't blame players for opting out

If I'm an NFL GM I don't draft guys who opt out. You've already shown you will quit on your team so when you are on an NFL roster where will that quit line be drawn? Out of playoff contention? Will you still ball out in a 6 win team? Or will you shut it down?

Not popular but if I'm an NFL guy I'm thinking about the compete level of the player.

Now, given current climate, I get why guys do opt out if it doesn't effect their NFL status.

So you would have passed on JaMarr Chase and Micah Parsons.

Which is why I said that in the current climate they do get drafted so opting out makes sense.
