I would say the Miami Hurricanes of the lat 1980's early 1990's could hang with them. They had the playmakers on both sides of he ball . Plus if thy got motivated, they would just personal foul you to death until you gave up....still remember the 1991 Cotton Bowl against Texas where the U had something like 200 yards in penalties in the first half and then set about to humiliate Texas . They ran over just about everyone the next year.

The 2001 Miami Hurricanes would have blitzed those teams. The 01 unit it the standard of which we measure. And I think this Alabama team could hang with them, maybe even force overtime.
