Did you really think it was a stretch that a 3 loss SEC team would make a 12 team playoff?

Especially one as talented as Alabama…

That would be a disgrace

If the ACC had balls it would put Miami in and take SMU out. It’s what is best for the conference and for SMU.

Why allow other conferences benefit?

Aside from the massive revenue.

What if UNLV beats Boise St. Does that knock out Boise St. or does the MWC get TWO teams in the playoffs?

1) If UNLV beats Boise then Bama is out.
2) If UNLV beats Boise AND Clemson beats SMU, then Bama and Boise are out.

#2 goes against the committee's claim that nobody would be punished for losing a CCG but based on the current rankings, that is what would happen.

I agree.

So the committee lied.

At some point people have to come to the realization that the WWE isn't the only "sport" that's fixed.

That would knock Boise out not Bama.

That would be the capper.

A team that wasn't good enough to play for a conference championship gets into the playoffs over a team that played for a conference championship and even with a loss, still has a better record than the team getting in.

We really comparing the Mountain West runner up with Bama

LOLOLOL

Nope. Boise is a Tier 3 team. They lose, they are out.

Nope, SMU is then out. Another Tier 3 school. Clemson and Bama in.

Narratives are fluid, depending on who benefits.

I swear it is as if none of you actually pay attention to the sport at all.

It isn't about who deserves anything, it is about who can potentially make the most money for ESPN.

Boise and SMU do not move the needle in these cases.

Boise lost to Oregon by a field goal...on the last play of the game...on the road.

ETA: Boise led by a touchdown in the fourth quarter and let it slip away.

So that means South Carolina could have a win over ACC champ Clemson and it won’t mean a damn thing in the committee's eyes when comparing them to Bama.

Bama already beat SCar head-to-head. And SCar already beat Clemson. I don’t see how their win over Clemson becomes that much better just because Clemson happens to win their conference.

It's wild that teams that weren't good enough to make their conference championship are "locked in" and teams that were could be punished for playing in it. What a stupid fricking system.

It happens multiple times every year in CBB. No one with a brain has a problem with it because not all conference and schedules are created equal.

I don’t mind the implication that, if you’re playing this weekend, it’s generally a good idea to win. They’re talking to teams that can’t afford another loss

No team that loses this weekend should be penalized in any way. It’s 100% unfair and unjustifiable.

A team being penalized for playing an extra game (and a difficult one at that) that other teams didn’t have to play is absolutely ridiculous and unfair. Losses this weekend should not count.

LOLOL

Spoken like a fan of an entitled Tier 1 team.

Just sit back and relax. Bama will get a free ride into the playoff annually. Will also be better to lose a few games so you don't have the stress of an injury during Championship Weekend. Make other teams actually earn it.

I know it feels that way when your team gives Bama absolutely zero resistance at home.

This is how you make schools, fans, and every conference outside of the B1G and SEC hate the playoff system.

Rewarding a team who finished 4th in their conference and sat home idle on conference championship weekend by punishing a team that went 11-1 in the regular season and played an extra game for the conference title

Yeah that would never have happened in the BCS or 4-team playoff to benefit Bama.

No. Only a moron would not understand why this is incredibly unfair when one team has to play an extra difficult game and the other one sits at home and does nothing. The team who earned the right to go to the conference championship is getting punished for its regular season success.
