They are committed.

What coach will they go get IF Rhett can’t get them ACC title?

They’ve got crazy money.

You’re assuming the ACC will still be viable and a conference in 2038

They’ll be limited by whom they are and the conference they’re in… just crazy money won’t get them an A-list coach

When’s the last time SMU won a conference championship - SWC, WAC, CUSA, or AAC?

Hope they enjoy those zero dollar annual TV payouts until the ACC dissolves.

SMU hasn’t won any conference since the Death Penalty.

They’ll fizzle out this year too in a watered down AAC.

SMU’s last conference title had to be in the 80s.

That was also when they were ranked consistently in the top 5 and the winningest program in the country over a 3 year stretch.

So it’s fallacy to think it’s not possible. They have more financial and administrative support behind them than Miami and recruit from a similarly large talent pool.

I've wondered if now they are ACC and Power 5 if that job isn't quite a bit more attractive and if they can lure a coach would they cut bait with Lashlee regardless?

They are in Texas have tons of money and are clearly dumping hundreds of millions into football program.

the day after the announced moving to the ACC the raised 100million for the football program. SMU doesn't need TV payouts.

That’s when you know you have too much money

But then again the Cowboys aren’t available so they have to take what they can get

SMU is on generation 3 of billionaires that have went to school there. They had a million dollar payroll in the 80's for that program. it's legal now so look out.
