Some folks who cover prospects for a living will tell you prospects in their system get the "Dodger Bump" - kind of like for years folks would say football recruits got the "Bama Bump" if Bama signed them. Not sure of the merit of that assertation, but it's out there.

Dodgers have an unfair competitive advantage. Due to the previous ownership issues the Dodgers currently don't have to share their TV revenue. Combine that with their absurd deferred contracts and they are financially able to buy up every top free agent on the market. This also has an effect on their farm system, blocking prospects who now become overvalued in trades.
It is common knowledge that Skubal is signing with the Dodgers in the off season. Knowing that, other teams were not interested in giving up too much for a 2 month rental. It created a depressed trade market with only one destination, the Dodgers.
Fans are sick of the Dodgers. This is probably worse than the Yankees hate of the late 90s/early 2000s. At least then the Red Sox were there to balance them and keep them in check.
There is going to be a work stoppage and it's going to be because of the Dodgers.

No, it's because the owners want a salary cap so they can keep more of the profits and the players want to keep the free market system in place so they can get more of the profits that they are bringing into the league.

Wait, what? I don't think public opinion is on the side of ownership. It seems to me that the owners screwed up a number of things and, to fix it, potentially lock out the players to fix their screwups.
Labor hasn't caused a problem, and they shouldn't be blamed or punished.
