Just looked at their schedule and Big 12 standings. They haven't played any good teams this year. Maybe at the time some of these teams were ranked but the Big 12 is way down this year.

TCU 10-0
KSU 7-3
OSU 7-3
Baylor 6-4
Texas 6-4
Kansas 6-4
Texas Tech 5-5
Oklahoma 5-5
WVU 4-6

If they finish 13-0, yeah.

That's not much different than Ohio State and Michigan.

All conferences are down this year. The sec looks terrible aside from GA an Tenn.

The west only has 3 teams remotely competitive. Arkansas, auburn, a&m and miss st are all horrendous

Define what a good conference is.
Is it a conference where there are 2 or 3 teams that beat up on all the other weaklings? O

If TCU finishes undefeated they will be in. Big Ten sucks this year too but nobody is questioning OSU or Michigan. If LSU wins the committee will be in a tough position re: 11-1 Tenn v 10-2 SEC Champ LSU. I said last week that Tennessee would get in when all the dust settles but they may be the odd man out now.

Tennessee just needs UGA to beat LSU and USC to lose another.

They will be ahead of the OSU/MICH loser.

it is different, in that TCU has already beaten multiple teams who have a pulse. Ohio St and Michigan haven’t even played anyone with a pulse yet

Bad take. Although this comment shows why conferences get punished for playing nine conference games.

If we want to talk about a weak schedule, look at the SEC West:

LSU lost to a middling ACC team in Louisiana
Alabama should have lost to Texas
Ole Miss and State played extremely easy OOC opponents
Arkansas and A&M lost to G5s
Auburn got embarrassed at home by Penn State

Ok so the Big 12 opponents are 47-34. They have played SMU (5-5), @Colorado (they are horrible), and a cupcake Tarleton State. When they have played 5 of their 7 Big 12 teams they were ranked. They are also 8-1-1 against the spread I believe. They are a solid football team.

At 13-0 they certainly should.

At 12-1 it's dicey, like it would be any other year.

Playing a true round robin schedule will make your teams look worse than they would under basically any other scheduling system.

I don’t expect USC to beat UCLA, Notre Dame, and win the Pac12 title game the next three weeks.

Penn State is as good as anyone TCU has played.

TCU is not one of the 4 best teams, but they would be in the playoff. We’ve all seen this movie before. It happened last year with Cincinnati.
It is what it is. You could see them in and Tennessee sitting at home.

Big 12 isn't really down. It's just that a lot of teams have had their starting quarterbacks go down for two or three games and get knocked off when they have to go to their backup. K-State, Texas, KU, and OSU have all lost games when they have been without their starting quarterback. Also, while it may not be top heavy there aren't automatic wins either. Eight of the ten teams are 5-5 or better and the two that aren't are 4-6. Pac 12 has four teams that have won three games or less this year. The Big 10 and the ACC each have three. If TCU goes undefeated in the conference and doesn't get tripped up in the conference championship game there should no question that they belong in the playoffs.
