So the shooter was a former player targeting current players? Did I hear this correctly?
No matter who the victims are this is just awful that someone took 3 lives for no sensible reason.

Homicidal maniacs usually aren’t applying logic and reason into their decisions.
How many players or athletes are still around if he last played 4 years ago? His attack was probably more institutional or opportunistic rather than personal. He knew the layout of the campus and facilities.
Also, we don’t know for sure he was targeting anyone. It might have been a drug deal gone bad, or an argument over a girlfriend that escalated.

I'm watching the police news conference from UVA.
ETA: They said that he had a prior incident with an unregistered firearm. And also a hazing incident that went unprosecuted because the witnesses were uncooperative.

The final game is VA Tech the big rivalry game. I can see them playing that game but cancelling the game against Coastal Carolina this weekend.

They’re 3-7 and an ex teammate just slaughtered three of their own
