In no way does receiving first an advantage in any situation, permutation.
The amount of people that agree with you makes me doubt myself. Why wouldn’t you take the ball first? If both teams score a TD (or FG) and it’s still tied, then next score wins. Right? Why wouldn’t receiving first be an advantage here?

Bc you’re not playing for the second possession in OT. going on D and knowing you have 4 downs or to play for a FG when you get the ball is a huge advantage. It changes how you call early downs.

That's also why Reid got fired in Philly. Never know how things will work out in the end.

I made this proclamation about Jim Harbaugh after they lost to Sparty, said I'd never pick him in a big game again. Suddenly he goes 3 straight over the Buckeyes and finally cashes in the past year.

Harbaugh is an amazing coach--Stanford, SF, UM. All were dumpster fires before he arrived.

Taking the ball in OT was crazy

I think it was the right call because their defense had just been on the field for KC final drive to tie the game and the drive prior to that. So, the defense was tired and you don't put them out again, you give them rest.

Pat got blocked. They would have won.

So you don't think Mahomes would have found a way to score the touchdown in regulation instead of settling for 3?

That 3rd quarter was horrible, they had them down on the ropes

This. I’m getting annoyed at everyone only discussing 4th quarter and OT. The 49ers took the 3rd quarter off.

Christian McCaffrey was running for 7+ yards every touch in the first half. 49ers started the second half going:
-pass, pass, pass, punt
-pass, pass, pass, punt
-run (finally but everyone knew it was coming) pass, pass, punt

I'll honestly never understand why coaches simply stop doing what is working

It's not even so much that they stopped running its that they stopped running so that they could run these long developing home run pass plays... which is the absolute last thing you draw up when Chris Jones is on the other side.

The OL deteriorated bc they simply couldn't hold off the blitz for that long. They desperately needs to throw the ball to Mccaffrey out of the backfield and get Kittle more involved with screens.

Would have changed the way KC handled the end of the game. If KC doesn't block the XP, the play calling from inside the 35 changes because they still need the TD since a FG doesn't help. Chances are the end result is the same and Pat gets the walkoff in regulation.

How can he be a choke artist if it’s rigged? The inconsistency of morons never ceases to amaze me
