It does allow Ant to play off the ball more but Melo is going to toss up some bs every chance he gets.

The Hornets just had their best season in a decade(admittedly a very low bar) and they decide to immediately trade their best player. I have no idea what they're doing, but it's pretty funny.

Selling high on a player they don't believe in. Melo's value was in the tank a year ago and its at the highest its been in awhile

It’s the NBA, you sell the farm when the star tells you that you have to. If they trade Edwards it’s going to be because he demands it, not because they are choosing to. And it could easily happen next summer. A lot crazier stuff has happened than that.

That makes sense. I don't think Lamelo is a winning basketball player. anyways. It's just rare to see teams trade their best player when they were improving as a team.

If they can get Lamelo to be a pass first PG, this could be interesting. Hard to tell what his game could be on a team with coaching/leadership with him in CHA with a bunch of other chuckers and low IQ players.

Even though Ant is a great scorer, they had a big weakness in that he was the only guy out there who could handle the ball. They need a second ball handler. Mike Conley used to serve that role for them. But he is about to be 40. Ant is a great scorer, but he's not the James Harden or Steph type guard that can be an entire offensive engine by himself.
Not to mention, with Julius Randle gone, he was about to have to be the Wolves sole source of offense. If Lamelo buys in truly and slows down his shot-chucking, I can convince myself that the pairing can work out.

He might be the least intelligent, least mature player in the entire NBA. I feel like Ant is going to want to fight him multiple times after he does insanely stupid things in big games. This seems like an insane trade, not sure how this makes the wolves better.

it's a disasterous trade for Charlotte. Pick swaps are worthless unless the other team is worse than you so they traded him for Naz Reid and a 33 first.
