Now that LeBron James has agreed to join the Lakers, Leonard might be opening up his options. Shams Charania of Yahoo Sports reports that Leonard is far from a lock to join the Lakers as a free agent in 2019, and that he isn't necessarily interested in joining a team with LeBron. In fact, he might be more open to playing with the Clippers, or even the Philadelphia 76ers.

"One thing that's been made abundantly clear. I'm going to stress this: There's no guarantee if Kawhi Leonard hits the market next summer he's going to sign with the Lakers, period," Charania said on The Herd with Colin Cowherd, via RealGM. "I think his options have broadened a little bit. There's another team obviously in L.A. I think he'd be very much open to the Clippers.

"There's a belief around the league that if the Sixers came hard, there could be potential there for him to potentially be there in the long-term.

"Around Kawhi, it's been made abundantly clear there's not an interest to go join a superteam. I don't think he's jumping for joy that LeBron James is in L.A. with the Lakers. If anything, that's going to make him look, maybe more, toward the Clippers because this is a guy that won Finals MVP against LeBron James. You think he's amped up and wants to join LeBron now? I think that's been overstated."

So basically the criticism the Warriors get for making a superteam is preventing a second superteam from forming to compete with them

I love you kawhi. These super teams are a fad. Will die out. The spirit of competition will win out. These bron and KD super team titles will be discounted decades from now.

Boston is close to a superteam.

If everyone is healthy then they have a decent chance to challenge the Warriors this year.

If Irving and Heyward come back 100% healthy along with Brown, Tatum, and Horford they have the only starting five that can play vs. The death lineup without changes and we have e seen what Irving can do to the Warriors now add Brown, Tatum, and Heyward.

I think that is why Ainge is c ok mfortable keeping is top eight players and making the finals this year and then next year when either Green or Thopmson along with cousins leaves going for it then.

Honestly, with the way the Lakers are operating after getting Lebron, why wouldn't he?

Yeah. This next one is the Warriors for sure, but there is definitely a chance they fall apart. Although, they will probably find a way to sign everyone cheap and add the best FA of the summer.

No way. You gotta be more established than Simmons and embiid are. Super team is three multi Time all star kinda guys teaming up. Like Lebron is miamI.

First, it's not a good sign for the accuracy of your reporting when you use potentially to qualify potential.

Next, I'm interested in why Kawhi would change his opinion if the Sixers came hard. It seems like that could really leave a mess on their hands if it went sideways.

Simmons needs to learn how to shoot before any of that
